Chris Carter could sense the Houston Astros were poised for another offensive outburst Wednesday night. Carter and Rick Ankiel each hit a two-run homer to help Houston beat the Seattle Mariners 8-3 before a crowd of 10,493, the smallest at Safeco Field since the ballpark opened 13 1/2 years ago.
