By now, most of us have seen or heard the story. How much stock does it carry? I mean really, there are more quotes attributed to "Ricky" in that article than he made his entire stint in The Big Easy. Why would he feel more at ease in NorCal than playing but a short cruise to Jamaica?

All that aside, what does Mr. Davis think? He hasn't said yet... Don't bet against Al. He has gotten some really good (unexpected) years out of some "washed up" or "problem" players. He's Jerry West with greasy hair and a couple less rings. Still both HOF'ers though.

And even oif he came back, his contract is still with the Fins. If I was the Raiders, Id spend money on a better RB. Like if E.James ever left the colts. Ricky will always have drug problems, once you start the fun dont stop!

I wasn't suggesting that it would even be a good idea. Just looking at the article and wondering what other people thought. Even if he wants to come back, and even if he want's to play for the RAIDERS, I don't think that he wouldn't be able to play until at least the fifth game of the 2005 season. That's assuming that the 'Fins were able to be satisfied with whatever compensation was offered for his rights. And I don't find that likely. If I was in the Dolphin organization, I would tell Ricky that he plays for them, or he plays nowhere. What he did (regardless of why he did it) was really chicken shit. I wouldn't want him on the RAIDERS just because of the risk of the problem coming up again, and again.

Beef, miami herald i beleive reported that the nfl now may not even suspend ricky if he came back next year. With that being said, according to spielman. He said the phins would not take anything less then 2 first rd picks. Would al davis pay that for a rb of ricky williams? Only way i see it, is if al davis trades woodson to another team for picks himself then turns around and uses them picks to aquire the fruit loop from miami.
