All of this assumes Davis makes a sincere attempt to play the game the way Cavaliers coach Paul Silas demands. The Cavs realize Davis is a major offensive talent, their best scorer when the 24-second clock is ticking down and a shot must be taken. He also has an excellent medium-range jumper. Davis is averaging 15 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists and shooting 43 percent. At 6-foot-7, 195 pounds and with pogo sticks for legs, he can put the ball in the basket. The Cavs just want him to shoot a little less, defend more and not worry about his statistics so much. If he doesn't follow those guidelines, he will sit -- and eventually, he will be sent elsewhere. Davis now has that message, very loud and very clear. </div> Trading Davis would seriously be a big mistake by the Cavs.Him and James have the chance to be one of the top duo's in the east and league if they stay togeather and actually play togeather.I doubt they would get the right deal back for him even if a trade offer did come up.
Davis has showed us that he can be a 20, 5, and 5 player. That is too much talent to dump without trying to work with him first. The Cavs are the youngest team in the NBA, so they have time. Davis looked much better last night against the Grizzlies as him and Bron had monster games. Davis was talking a lot with Bron during the game, communicating very well. Davis was even being very supportive to his teammates, giving them high fives throughout the game. Lets see if this is the turnaround for one Ricky Davis.
Sometimes its better to get rid of a player if he is a virus to the team, no matter how good he is. I think its too early to label Davis a virus though.
Yea, they have till february to decide whether to trade him, might as well wait and see what happens.
He's handling all the Bron hype pretty nicely. He's aware that he's not the number 1 man as far as the fans are concerned. He's willing to help Bron out and still bring out solid performances. That for me is worth it.
He's handling the hype well.....publicly. But apparently he yelled at Bron after he made a made a mistake during one of the games. I'm not sure which game it was, but apparently Bron didn't perform as well after being chastised by Davis. I think that Davis is jealous, but has become less concerned with attaining personal stats (like fake triple doubles ) and more concerned with winning.
Who wouldn't be jealous if a rookie is taking all the admiration of the fans? I even heard that shops only sells Bron's jerseys before. They just put in a few of Ricky's jerseys when it was being noticed. He's handling it pretty well. Just think of the possibilities when they jell better in the future.
