Ricky Williams' suspension has been upheld and he won't be able to play this year. I don't feel very good about this. I would like to hear more details about why the NFL upheld the suspension considering that Ricky Williams' failed drug test wasn't for marijuana this time. I hate to see Ricky lose a year for an accident if he's really trying to stay clean. I would also like to know if the NFL is conducting a investigation to find out who leaked the information to the press since it was supposed to be confidential. I'd like to see that person punished as well.
do we know exactly what he was tested positive for? i mean i want to know i want to know if its something ridiculous and stupid that he shouldnt be suspended a freakin year for. But you know its his fault in the first place he shouldnt have gotten caught the first 3 times. thats what happens... if its a positive on a real substance that he should be suspended for then good for the NFL for keeping the suspention on a high profile player thats what they have to do.
I'd like to know what he tested it for. I feel bad for Ricky but in away if he didn't get suspended 3 more times for marjuana then he wouldn't be in this situatuion now. He is trying to better himself but I don't think he'll ever be the player he was. Perhaps he's played his last game as a Dolphin.
I heard it was an amphetamine i.e. speed and posted my thoughts on this months ago. my earlier thoughts In the recent Sporting News (4/28/06), Chipper Jones (Braves 3B) stated that he knows guys who don't play and take amphetamines. Everyone IMO who takes any type of fat burner, diet supplement, or energy drink could possibly be in violation of the NFL's policy. I agree that Ricky violated and should be punished but I really do not think that the year long suspension fits the crime. Dale is right who ever tattled should be dealt with accordingly. If it is another franchise in the league then said organization should have draft picks taken away.
We wont find out what the test was for unless Ricky himself tells us....the league and teams cant release it, and because of the original leak, its unlikely a reporter is going to be able to weasal out the info....it hurts the Dolphins, but not a much as it did 2 years ago....
