Would you trade Kobe and Gasol for Lebron? Not just for this year...this is a now and down the road question. Adding to the ridiculousness, assume Lebron is familiar with the entire Lakers system and players within 1 week of the trade

    Bynum
    Odom
    Artest
    Lebron
    Fisher

Would people hate me if I said yes?

LeBron - Artest would be SICK on the perimeter.

For the future? You'd be a total idiot in not saying yes. However, for the next 3-4 years, you'll have to deal with Kobe, Pau, Shaq, (Possibly Amare), and that fantastic supporting cast coming out of the east and destroying us every year.

I wouldn't trade Kobe for LeBron and on top of it add Gasol?

You act like Kobe's a scrub. Any my reasoning has to do with the type of player Lebron is. I cant stand watching the guy. I never want to see him in a Lakers uniform. Not even when Kobe's retired. I wouldn't be interested in trading the team washer and dryer for him.

the actual caliber of the players and what would happen if Lebron was seamlessly integrated into the Lakers system without Kobe and Gasol...pretty sure I mentioned that in the OP :devilwink:

The team is built around Kobe to win titles for the next 3 to 5 years. LeBron's had the Cavs franchise build around him since day one and he is still without a title. He might go down as being the best player to never win a Championship. Cleveland has gone ALL IN this season in a last ditch effort to convince LeBron to stay.

Kobe isn't an old 31 because he keeps himself in ridiculous physical shape. He outworks anyone in the league still.

I think the young player to watch out for is Dwight Howard. He's starting to develop a nice mid-range and post game. Once the likes of Shaq, KG, and Duncan start retiring and he continues improving he's going to be unstoppable.

No one is arguing the caliber of the players. You asked if we would try Kobe and Gasol for Lebron. I said No and explained the reasoning behind my feelings towards your question. It has nothing to do with the caliber of Lebron. But if it does, He's not worth Kobe and Gasol.

I do...it not only would make us the favorites arguably but we will be set for long term with a younger Lebron on a team made of players way better than he has played with before

If you dont respect Lebron Im just wondering what you think about Kobe...

I mean Kobe is a KNOWN asshole, hard to be around, and adulterer.

What has Lebron done? Riverdance while his team was winning?:dunno:

Do you just not "respect" him because he challenges Kobe for who is the greatest player in the NBA right now?

Of course not...Lakers obviously made the right decision....Im just realistic

Kobe is an asshole and did pretty much everything an athlete can do to make fans not like him. He also happens to be the 1st or 2nd best player in the NBA. Nothing Im saying is new news....

    Adulterer...check
    Shit talking Phil Jackson ....check
    Shit talking Shaq......check
    Shit talking Mitch.....check
    Shit talking Jerry.....check
Not talking to West cause West said Lebron is better now.....check
Teammates talkin shit about him after they arent with the Lakers....check

Im sure Im missing a lot more.

Im a Lakers fan so I root for him...I cheer when his shots go in......

    ...Im also not blind

So again...why do you "respect" Kobe and not Lebron?...beside for the fact he is a Laker
