Back in the day, AC Milan offering £25m for Ryan Giggs. This was when Chris Sutton at £8-10m (I forget exactly) was the record transfer. £25m back then was just insane money. Still is, I suppose. Also remember one saying that Gadaffi wanted to buy a stake in Manchester United but settled for a lower league club.
