<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">''[Wade's] athleticism and quickness in combination with his overall skill level is probably the best package,'' Riley said, speaking of all the players he has coached. ``James Worthy would probably be the other guy. . . . [Johnson] doesn't come close to doing what Dwyane can do physically, athletically.''</div> I honestly think wade and magic are too different to compare, i wonder if he's trying to say that if wade was on the 80's Lakers team they'd be better? http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/14064259.htm
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pat Riley has coached at least one player who amazed him more than Dwyane Wade (Magic Johnson). But after watching Wade for 2 ½ seasons (including the past three months from the sideline), Riley can't think of another player he has coached with a superior package of skills.</div> This clarifies it a little more. I think we can all agree Wade is a superior athlete to Magic.
I don't see what's the big deal, Magic wasn't really a I'll dunk on you guy. He was athletic for a 6'9 guy, but his athletic ability doesn't really compare to Wade's.
I think people are confused by the quote. Riley is saying Wade is more athletic than Magic, not a better player. Magic was athletic, but not in Wade's realm athletically.
