Died after a long battle with cancer at 69...had a voice like an angel...turns out, not such a lucky man in the end...Keith Emerson last year and Greg Lake this year....only Carl Palmer left of ELP

    Fuck.

    First Emerson, now Lake?

It sucks getting old and having your heroes start to die off.

The man was an outstanding musician.

Palmer is the greatest drummer of my lifetime. Ditto Emerson on keyboards.

    IMO

Try being young and seeing Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley and later on Scott Weiland go. Sucks worse, but yeah I get it.

Greg Lake influenced me in many ways....I took up playing bass and 12 string guitar after seeing him perform although I'd already had my eyes on 12 string...I played in the orchestra in school and always loved classically influenced rock...I used to call it art rock...these guys did incredibly deep and complicated work. ELP and King Crimson were bands very, very few musicians had the chops to play for...Lake could do it all....lead vocals, bass, acoustic, electric guitars

Better than being 70 and seeing the same thing.
