Damn good musician, loved the Carney Album with my favorite track being The Cajun Love Song.

Leon was due to play Pensacola on the 15th of this month, Melbourne also. Then hit L.A. for two shows, and he didn't make it.

Saw Leon as one of several guests at a Zappa New Year's show in the latter 70s at the Forum. Along with: Dr. John, Beefheart, and others incl. S. Vai up front.

Carney was a classic Russell LP. Tightrope a favorite. I once read how Russell, would meet a group of locals, and jam together "back in the days"; rotating from one musician's house to the others, incl but not limited to: Bonnie and Delanie Bramlett, Gram Parsons, Keith Richards, Sneaky Pete Kleinlow, Greg Skunk Baxter; and many other local musicians trying to make it in L.A.....

    reminiscent of garage bands-
