    Yeah I read about this a few days ago. And you're right, it was not a very big issue in the news. As Willie Mays mentor, Irvin was one of those players that I always questioned being in the hall. He was always looked upon though as one of the finest gentlemen to ever have played the game.

    R I P Monte Irvin.......Willie Mays' mentor. Loved his
    stories when the MLB doors were closed to the black
    athlete.
