Man, how does this guy have a job? :biglaugh: Here's to a competitive and injury-free game!

...asked how Oregon State was going to slow down Oregon, Riley laughed out loud. “I don’t know that we would have all the answers to that,’’ he said. “We just have to look at it again and try to come up with a great plan.’’ …

An angry Oregon team, playing at home, looking to clinch homefield for the Pac-12 championship game does not sound like a fun afternoon for Oregon State...

the Beavers have lost three straight games in the two teams’ in-state rivalry and they are whopping 29½ point underdogs in the 115th Civil War that will unfold Saturday at Autzen Stadium.

For the second straight year, the Civil War is a match-up nightmare for the Beavers, who once again will be hard-pressed to slow down the Ducks’ warp-speed offense and stable of super-quick, game-changing athletes.

For the Beavers, even trying to mimic the Oregon offense in practice will be a difficult undertaking.

“You just have to take what they do and try to get the right people who can simulate that,’’ said Riley. “It’s the speed of how they do it, and the tempo with which they do it that is important (to simulate) in trying to get ready for them.’’

OSU has been offensively challenged for much of the year and has struggled to run the ball effectively...

Oregon is among the national leaders in scoring (45.64 points per game), rushing (284.27) and total offense (496.09), daunting numbers for an OSU defense that ranks 83rd among FBS schools and 11th in the conference in rushing defense.

Rodgers sprained his ankle in the second quarter of the Washington game but has already promised Riley he will be ready for the Ducks. “It’s kind of day to day with him,’’ said Riley. Other injuries include wide receiver Obum Gwacham’s sprained shoulder, slotback Jordan Bishop’s broken foot (out for the season), middle linebacker Rueben Robinson’s concussion and wide receiver Brandin Cooks’ thigh bruise.

Really? That's too bad. It's just football and part of the fun is having 'banter' between fans in one of the longest running and historic rivalries. You'll notice no one getting upset with the Lyles, Knight, payment comments from Beav fans on the Duck forum. Right?

Try not to take everything so serious! :) - and it's generally not a good practice to let a fan or two represent the entire fan base and program.
But really, the comic relief offered by Riley (on a daily basis) is the stuff of legends!

    Go Ducks!!

1910: following a 12-0 Oregon victory in Corvallis, fans of both teams began a verbal argument that escalated into exceedingly rowdy behavior as Ducks fans returned to the train station to leave. The UO's public relations department spread stories of (then) Oregon Agricultural College hooliganism to the statewide press, offending students of OAC and causing the rivalry to be suspended for 1911.[7]

1937: After defeating Oregon 14-0 in Corvallis, Oregon State fans had a large rally the next evening that lasted for six hours. Approximately 2,000 Oregon State students decided to caravan the following day to Eugene and have another celebration. State police initially halted the group, then agreed to lead them through the town if they agreed to behave. However, once Oregon students got out of class, the situation escalated with Ducks pelting Beavers with tomatoes and water balloons, some Oregon State students were thrown into the millrace, and other OSU students taken to Skinner Butte, stripped and forced to repaint the "O" hillside letter yellow and slide down the painted surface.[7]

1954: 50-60 UO students infiltrated Corvallis and lit the traditional OSU homecoming bonfire early. While it had been done before, this time OSU students were able to capture 25 UO students and hold them "prisoner".[8] The captured students had their heads shaved, were painted orange and black and some were forced to do menial labor for OSU fraternities. One captured Duck was marched through the OSU campus with a sign that said "I'm a dumb Duck."[7] Meanwhile, the UO raiding party kidnapped a single OSU student and paraded him around the UO campus.[8]

1960: a UO student abducted the OSU homecoming queen from the front of her home in Corvallis. She was returned unharmed thirty minutes later, but before that the OSU student body president received a ransom note demanding he ride a child's scooter to the center of Eugene and make a public appeal for her return.

1972: After a 30-3 UO victory at Corvallis, Ducks fans stormed the OSU field to take down goal posts; after taking down the south goalposts, Beavers fans attempted to defend the north goalposts, resulting in a large brawl.[7]

2008: With just a few minutes left in the first half, and Oregon having scored twice in a matter of minutes, an Oregon State student threw cans of white paint at the Oregon Marching Band while they waited to take the field for halftime, causing thousands of dollars in damage to the band's uniforms.

2010: After a 37–20 victory which sent the Ducks to the BCS championship, a group of Duck fans lit on fire a T-shirt saying "I hate your Ducks" over the Beavers logo on the field. The resulting fire caused significant damage to the artificial turf. Police used a photo of the incident from the Portland Tribune to arrest a University of Oregon student and charge him with riot and several misdemeanors.[9]

While I am free to post in the Duck forum it's not as if nobody did anything to me. I will bet you that every other member of S2 has a link to the Duck forum when they log into the Blazers forum. I used to, but I don't anymore. I think an admin or mod removed it or made it so I can't see it.

Really?!? I swear to god I don't think anyone has done such a thing. If they have I will get it undone. We have a secret mod forum were such drastic actions are discussed first and no one has said a thing. Could you have accidentally blocked the link with something like Ad Block plus or something like that?

I can still get in the Ducks forum. I just have to go to College Football from here, and then click on it. What I'm talking about is the link that usually appears when you go to the Blazers forum. It's right by a link to the Beavers forum if I remember correctly. If I go the Blazers forum as a guest without logging in I can see the link to the Ducks forum. As soon as I log on as tlongII it disappears though.
