<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Richard Jefferson chose his words slowly and carefully. Outwardly, he was calm and composed. Inwardly, only he could answer. So he was asked about his slow start Friday in Orlando, where he got just one shot in the first quarter, despite playing 10 minutes.

"You have to be very careful how you answer that question, for obvious reasons," said Jefferson, who uncharacteristically had left after Friday's game without addressing the media.

So was his surgically repaired ankle causing him problems? Was he not warm? The offense? What?

"I'm not critiquing the offense. I think I only took one shot and only had a few touches. That's the way it went in first quarter. I don't know, being warm and having touches, how those two go hand in hand," said Jefferson who ended up shooting 8-of-15 - the only big-minutes regular to shoot 50 percent.

"You cannot be warm and get a million touches or be ready to go and not see the rock. It just didn't come my way."

So did Jefferson approach coach Lawrence Frank to ask about an increased role?

"His main focus is the team, not one individual," Jefferson said. "Ultimately his main thing is how can I get this team right, not how can I get Richard right, which is the way it should be. ... I'm pleading the fifth on most of these questions. ... I was very upset with the loss."</div>
