In September, U.S. District Judge Avern Cohn sentenced Traylor, 31, to three years of probation -- to include three months in a federal halfway house -- after Traylor recorded as his own two homes that were owned by his cousin, convicted drug kingpin Quasand Lewis. Cohn earlier allowed Traylor to interrupt his sentence to play pro basketball in Puerto Rico and the probation department allowed him to attend a workout with the Cavaliers and play on their summer league team. Traylor's Detroit attorney, Steve Fishman, filed a motion Tuesday asking Cohn to overrule the probation officer, saying the judge "clearly intended to give Mr. Traylor the opportunity to obtain an NBA contract and continue his professional basketball career." Cohn is to hear the motion today. BUT, if I remember correctly, in his Charlotte Hornet days, this guy could flat out PLAY!

he is a big body (in more ways than one), but I think I'd look elsewhere first.....it isn't like he's going anywhere anytime soon.........
He's had a history of health problems. He's had off-court problems. Even barring those 2 things, he isn't that great of a player. If I were the Lakers, I'd be thinking he's not worth my time. If I were Traylor, I'd be going after middle-of-the-pack teams before trying to join a championship contender. The Lakers are better off getting someone like Francisco Elson, or Michael Ruffin...maybe even a young guy like Chuck Hayes (he's available still, right?). EDIT: Or maybe that was Carl Landry?
Landry would be a great fit for a lot of teams (Houston, Lakers, Hornets, Spurs, etc.)........I hope we sign him back..........
