Free-agent center Robin Lopez has agreed in principle to a four-year, $54 million contract with the New York Knicks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The agreement is contingent on the strong likelihood free agent DeAndre Jordan doesn't choose a max-contract offer from the Knicks, league sources said. Jordan has narrowed his decision to staying with the Los Angeles Clippers or joining the Dallas Mavericks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

With Knicks president Phil Jackson seemingly unable to recruit top-tier big men LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Monroe or Jordan to New York, Lopez was the frontcourt player willing to join Carmelo Anthony in the lineup.
