I think Rooney's hair plugs came in second? Robin Van Persie has been awarded the PFA Player of the Year award for his outstanding campaign. RVP is also likely to take home the FWA Footballer of the Year award as well, which as not yet been announced. Van Persie leads the EPL in goals with 27 in 33 appearances, with five more in cup and European play. Van Persie is chasing the golden boot award for most goals in the EPL season but must hold-off Rooney, who has 24 goals. There are three games remaining in the schedule for both teams. Van Persie was named captain of Arsenal following Cesc Fabregas's defection to Barcelona this past summer.
Van Persie was also named to the PFA Team of the Year. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, nominated for PFA Young Player of the Year, lost out to Kunt Wanker (dunno if I spelled that right).
Team of the Year: Goalkeeper: Joe Hart (Manchester City) Defenders: Vincent Kompany (Manchester City) Fabricio Coloccini (Newcastle United) Kyle Walker (---) Leighton Baines (Everton) Midfielders: Scott Parker (---) Yaya Toure (Manchester City) Gareth Bale (---) David Silva (Manchester City) Forwards: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) Robin Van Persie (Arsenal)
As expected, RVP has also been named the FWA Player of the Year. Sensational season from the skipper.
