So many names being thrown around the Rockets...I thought I'd put together an unofficial training camp roster so that we can keep the madness in some sort of order [IMG]

Player-Height-Weight
=============================
Derek Anderson (G) 6'5", 195
Vin Baker (F) 6'11", 240
Jon Barry (G) 6'5", 210
Lonny Baxter (F) 6'8", 260
Ryan Bowen (F) 6'9", 220
Chuck Hayes (F) 6'5", ?
Luther Head (G) 6'3", 185
Juwan Howard (F) 6'9", 230
Mike James (G) 6'2", 188
Keith Langford (G) 6'4", 215
Tracy McGrady (G) 6'8", 210
Dikembe Mutombo © 7'2", 265
Moochie Norris (G) 6'1", 185
Bob Sura (G) 6'3", 200
Stromile Swift (F) 6'9", 230
Charlie Ward (G) 6'2", 185
David Wesley (G) 6'1", 201
Yao Ming © 7'6", 310

That's a total of 18 players right now...mind, you we are allowed however many players we so choose during training camp and preseason...however, for the regular season, we must have a maximum number of players of 15...I will try and keep this updated throughout, but this thread is basically to provoke discussion of the roster, and for trades or such...

Oh yeah, everyone forgot about Chuck Hayes. I remember reading sometime in July that we had signed him to a contract. That being said, now I can't figure out why we signed Baxter to a guaranteed contract then. Both are similar in that they're undersized and play a tough physical style of play. Both have the height to play small forward but both aren't too quick to do so. I don't think Hayes will make the roster. If he does, then Baxter won't. There's no sense in having two undersized power forwards who remain on the roster but won't play.

Locke, I believe Hayes' contract was non-guaranteed...and Baxter's is...so they're just letting Hayes come in to see what he can do, such as Langford...the team pretty much knows what it can get from Baxter, not only from his summer league play, but because he also has NBA experience...

The Rockets have been inviting some prospects every pre-season while other teams already have their fixed number(15) of players. I think Baxter has a chance of making the team because he's signed to a guaranteed contract though it will mean one of these guys(Baker,Ward, Moochie) will be cut off either by trade or a buyout to accommodate Baxter.
