At this time last year, the Rockets had sold no season ticket packages -- even though the team was about to unveil its sparkling new arena and Yao was coming off an impressive rookie season.

This year, however, the buzz around the trade has resulted in the sale of almost 650 season tickets.

"The trade has got us an extra big boost," said Tim McDougall, the Rockets' vice president of marketing. "To get people to focus on basketball at all this time of year, that's pretty good. The phones were ringing all day after the trade."

Thats great news, although the one thing I absolutely LOATHE is that there will be millions upon millions of bandwagoners from here on out...its gonna be hard to tell who the true Rockets loyalists were...

i jumped on the bandwagon when they drafted Yao.. [IMG] I was previously a fan during the Hakeem era, but stopped when they got Francis (I'm from Vancouver... sooo you can figure that out). I'd have to say I'm more of a fan than ever now that Francis is out and T-Mac is in.

The true fans are the ones who have been a fan before the new era of McGrady & Yao. And once they start winning, expect the numbers to increase.

Seeing as how I've never been a fan of McGrady (even when he was with the Magic) you don't have to worry about me jumping on the bandwagon. I'll stick with my last place Magic. [IMG]

But when Hakeem retired and the team started to lose, I didn't jump back off.

I have always been a fan, but never followed them in depth. I was a big Steve Francis fan, and even though he is gone, I will still love the rockets. I really loved the rockets during the second year they won the championship and even though they had their ups and downs the past decade or so, I have been a fan. does that make me a bandwagoner?
