Despite the loss to the Duncan-less Spurs yesterday afternoon, the Rockets have managed to climb up 3 spots from last week to reach their highest ESPN Power Ranking position of the season at #5. Apparently, Rocket fans aren't the only ones that see how well this team is coming together, and maybe some media is even starting to believe that the Rockets have what it takes to make a serious push to take it all.

Now if only this roster had been together all season...where might the Rockets be? I'll say 50 wins, and counting.

Great for this to happen. Our team is finally getting the recognition it deserves.

I'm 100% confident that we'll end up with more than 50 wins. We're already at 42 and need just 9 out of our 12 remaining to get 51 wins. Might not sound like an easy task winning 9 of 12, but we can beat any team once we get on a roll.

I think they'll hit 48 to 50, no more no less...they've got 2 remaining against Phoenix, and 4 of their last games are Seattle, Memphis, Denver, Seattle. That's 6 games right there that I expect to be very tough. If they can win half of those (3) and 5 of the other 6 games, which is about as good as I can see them doing, that's 50.

Yeah, its probably going to be tough, but I think Houston probably will make it to fifty wins. By the way, does anyone know what was the record last season? I just want to compare and see how the trade ultimately affected the team.

Anyways, Houston's finally getting some recognition but hopefully will remain relatively quiet in the media come playoff time. That way, the team would surprise some of the teams they face and maybe get some advantage in the playoffs.

Alot of reporters and ex-NBA players are picking Houston as a possible surprise in the playoffs. People like Bill Walton, Magic Johnson, Tim Legler and I think ive heard Stephen A. Smith comment on the Rockets. I too would like Houston to stay under the radar but if these guys keep talking things may change.

Aznxballer, did you switch with Dan Le? Or is it his game tonight?

As for our win total last season, it was 45-37.

Last year they went 45-37. Starters COMBINED missed 19 games, only 3 of which were Steve (3) or Yao (0), and there were no major roster moves during the season.

This season, Bob Sura alone has missed 21 games, and there have been 22 new players on the roster this season, yet they're still on pace for roughly 50 wins. That should put things in perspective for you.
