I wonder if he's is trying to make up for the constant ribbing he's still getting from the whole "I gotta feed my family" bit. If he takes 1.7 minimum to play for a contender.. that would be a great start. I am pretty sure if Van Gundy wants him again then he values him as a player and also feels like he's manageable since he's already coached him in the past. If this is true.. That would explain Sam Casell's comments

That would explain Sam Casell's comments</div> take it for a grain of salt dude, imho, "hoopsworld" is full of **** (meaning they are not credible or a reliable source to trust..hell, they even said Dallas was going to make a "big" trade for Paul Pierce )...they are just trying to attract and make easy members pay for a sub to read their info (just like espn trying to get ppl to pay to read their "insider" crap..but the only difference is that espn are more credible and more expensive ) if u want legit info go here: - good info1 - good info2 - good info3 - good info4 and of course, don't forget ppl, DA will make his decision monday and Spree and Finely most likely wednesday (a good week of drama and suspense )
RoXoR, you would actually believe RealGm? I would put them in the same boat as Hoopsworld. The only good sources really are ESPN, Hoopshype, or maybe CF. Anyway, if Sprewell does take the LLE, it can mean one of two things- that he's hungry for a championship or that he's try to get over the "feed my family" status around the league.

If they're wrong then I'm sure they will say it was "just a rumor".
I swore I saw RealGM a couple months ago with a totally bogus rumor... Anyhow a lot of their info is just the Houston Chronicle links or stuff that is already reported by Hoopshype so I guess it doesn't really matter.
Aznxballer is 100% correct. RealGM is definitely not credible. The first trade they "reported" (made up) had Earl Watson ending up in Boston. HoopsWorld is crap. They reported that Houston was close to trading for Bonzi Wells. The best place to get Rockets news is FOX26 Sports on local Houston news. They always seem to get the breaking news first.
It's going to be a domino effect after Michael Finley decides where he wants to play. If he signs with the Pistons, then Sprewell will likely sign with the Rockets because of his relationship with JVG, which will then force DA to sign with the Lakers. If Finley signs with the Heat or Suns, then Sprewell will sign with the Pistons, and DA will choose between the Rockets and Lakers. Finley plans on making his decision sometime next week.
That would suck a lot if we didn't get anymore free agents...it is a possibility. Anyway, I'm sure hoopsworld is just full of made up rumors so they can get they checks from excited, gullible fans. But even if we did get Spree, I wouldn't be too excited cause he would only add another 30+ veteran. I would look for younger players...like say Damon Jones?

He can shoot lights out, but for a PG,he really doesn't have any other good qualities. He can't defend, can't penetrate, or pass that well. He's basically an undersized SG. Right now I think we need size and quickness at SG/SF more than anything. After we snatch up Derek Anderson or Spree, then we can look for a PG like Van Exel or Payton through trade.
Cant trust hoopsworld, they make up the stupidest stuff. Derek Anderson should make a decision this weekend, he said saturday that he would decide in the next 48 hours. Spreewel is going based on finley, and finley probably wont decide this week. So if we get anderson, spreewell will go to detroit, and finley should probably end up in miami.

Hoopsworld isn't a credible source, but I think there's a very strong possibility that Spree would sign with us. Anderson received a $2.5 million contract offer from the Lakers and while it's not much more than what we could offer, it's very possible that Anderson could be tempted to go for LA's sunshine and exposure. If Anderson signs with LA, then it's a 90% chance that we get Sprewell.
HAHA...Hoopsworld is officially A BULLSHI* source. Derek Anderson signed with us (as mentioned on fox). I am happier w/ Anderson because we know what we are getting, he is safe, and can not ruin the team's chemistry.
