Bill Walton says that the Rockets are the most disappointing team in the NBA, and at this point, I can't disagree with the man. The Rockets just aren't playing good basketball. We can't start games off well, and we can't finish them at all, we're making Charlie Rosen (or whatever his name is) sound like Nostradamus.
Just like a season ago, I feel that the Rockets were overhyped by the media. As we have shown, we are far from being contenders, and before the season began, it seemed as though no one cared about the chemistry problems that would inevitably come into play, and Bob Sura was almost forgotten, and the presumption that the Rockets will fare well without him. I had actually expected a rough start, but 3-6 is a bit too "rough", granted we didn't have McGrady for three of those games. Even then, we're 3-3 with Tracy. I don't think we should start pointing fingers at everyone, as it's evident we won't be contenders this season.
I saw us at about this point when I heard Tracy was injured and how poorly we started out playing...I actually think we'll end up somewhere around 3-10 or so...
im dissapointed... no doubt... i want them to win it all this year, and i still believe in them... go ROCKETS!!!
Bill Walton is a rocket hater. well think about it our finisher and best player is not in good shape and its a new team who are still getting use to each other like Mac said a couple nights ago.

Obcourse it's going to be chemistry problems on a NEW team, but you guys blow EVERYTHING way out of porportion. The Rockets have had a bad stretch, and still need to find themselves. Let's be realistic, we've had the toughest schedule in the NBA thus far. Spurs one night, and the Pistons right after. ANY team in the NBA would look sloppy in that situation. You guys fail to factor in any of that. Not to mention we started the season without our best player, and he's a little bruised up. What you fail to realize is the NBA season is VERY long. All it takes is a good practice, a glance at some game tape and a team can turn things around in the blink of a eye. You would think people would have learned that from last years team. The Rockets WILL get it together, and when they do, I want to see how fast you people jump back on the band wagon.

Rock4life, we're the worst fans? Is it wrong to say that the Rockets are disappointing at this point in the season? It's something thats on everyone Rockets fans minds. Bill Walton did an interview and said it, I'm wondering if people agree or not, and for the most part while the Rockets aren't the worst team in the NBA, they are the most disappointing and the underachieving team of the year so far.
ZI actually think we'll get back on our feet. We'll make the playoffs because many western conference teams are struggling. We went 6-12 last year and ended 51-31. We're 3-6 and who knows how we'll end up. Stromile has gotten his confidence back in some sense and Wesley had a big nights in the last two games. I do agree Luther Head should play more, but its only been 9 games. If were still down by the allstar break then we can go into panic mode. TUrnovers are killing us in my opinion.

Against those teams? A pitiful 1-5. Save that quote and post it when we are near the top, sure, but only when we make it to the WCF and become a real threat to whoever else is there. That's the only way the Rockets can be contenders. Right now, we're pretenders, just like Phoenix was last season. And when I have ever jumped off the wagon? Stilll lists the Rockets as my favorite team doesn't it?

Or something like that. Like Locke said, the sked hasn't been that tough. They've played a few really bad teams, and it's not as if they've had any grueling road trips. When Sura does come back, do you honestly think he'll be 100%? He won't be near as effective as he was IMO. The Rockets could very well turn themselves around like last season, but that's not something to just take for granted in a much improved NBA. You are the one being unrealistic.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting THE DREAM:</div><div class="quote_post">let's see we didn't have our best player/finisher in three of those games.....Boston was a back to back and it was rough for Tmac to even get into that game with his injury........I'm not trying to make excuses for the Rockets, but to say this team can't contend with the top teams in the west or the NBA after 9 games is ridiculous</div>Does not having Tracy McGrady in three of those games really affect the Rockets that much? There is no way the Rockets should have needed TMac to close out games for them against New Orleans and Orlando, both at home. Losing to Miami was reasonable, but so what if we were facing Boston on a back-to-back? They are regular occurances in the NBA and they shouldn't be an excuse. Raef Lafrentz exposed the Rockets' perimeter defense, and the Rockets were outplayed in every aspect of that game. And we're talking about Boston, a team that many predicted to finish out of the playoffs. Outside of that, yes. The Rockets did manage to "contend" with contenders like San Antonio and Detroit, but "contending" isn't staying close in games. It's actually winning them. Against contender/pretender teams this year, the Rockets are 1-3. Does that make us contenders like San Antonio, or pretenders like Sacramento? You tell me.
I think they are. The Kings are right now the most dissapointing team but the Rockets are right behind them. People say "Oh, it's because McGrady is injured", news flash, injuries are part of the game and if anybody though that the Rockets would go through the season without one key injury is foolish. Well anyways that's why people were/are so high on the Rockets because they are deep team and without McGrady they would be able to hold their own which thus far doesnt seem to be true. So, I'd say the Rockets are without a doubt up there as far as dissapointment goes. But that doesn't have to do with anything as far as long term success goes because I see them getting things together eventually, but for the time being they are a dissapoinment in my book.
The Spurs lost Duncan for a stretch last year, and they still had an above .500 record while he was out, and Duncans an MVP player. All teams have key injuries during the season, but that doesn't give them an excuse to go 3-6. Miami is missing Shaq and JWill (and Posey just returned), and although they lost to a hungry Toronto team today, their record is still decent. They snapped Philly's winning streak the other day.
