This is the discussion thread for the game. There was supposed to be a preview but maybe Shooter is a bit busy. Anyhow, we'll still discuss the game in this thread. Shooter, if you have the preview, please post it here.

I think that McGrady and Carter will have a nice matchup, but I think McGrady will do better because he wants to redeem himself after his mediocre performance last night. Yao has bad opposition guarding him, but his elbow will still limit his shooting accuracy and finishing. However, I expect T-Mac and our bench to pull us through, despite Yao still scoring less than 12 points. The Rockets will take this in a hard-fought victory, 91-88.

GOSSHH the Raptors are hitting every single freakin shot. Score is 52-39. T-Mac show...bench players right now can't do jack and Yao is being pushed around by a weak Woods. Yao has been benched the majority of the game.

This game isn't going our way at all. Let's hope we can pick things up in the second half.

Yao is starting to realize that he actually has some skills. He's stepped it up and now we're down 3 points 68-71. Good run by rockets. End of Third.

What...we need more people posting during games.

Rockets are going to lose this one. I am questiong Van Gundy's offense plays and now I'm questioning our DEFENSE for it has been ATROCIOUS! Maybe if we applied defense we might have had a chance but no...score right now is 92-85...FT's for Vince...maybe going to be 94-85 then the game is over.

We'll be ok. I think T-mac and yao need more time. Our defense could be better...

Well, we've lost by 7 points. It seems that we still need to work on our clutch execution. Whenever we are against the clock, be it the shot clock or game clock, we seem to rush to get a shot off instead of taking it calmly. Yao Ming needs to work on his pick settings too, and his free throw shooting hasn't been impressive. However, this new season is not really looking good now as we're 0-2, and Memphis will be pretty hard to beat on Friday.

Man... this isnt funny. Ward's inabilty to come off a pick and throw it to Yao.. Man I feel like crying. Its just BLAH. Trade Mo and Howard PLEASE. Why is Ward on a 3 year contract?! Man, give Barrett a shot. GOD. BOKI shoot IT! JJ, DONT SHOOT IT! If we lose against Memphis, I wont watch a Rockets game till.. December. This is so horrible, man we'd have to go into overitme to beat the Bobcats with a team like this. And look, Francis wins it at the buzzer for the MAgic. Tmac did so well, Yao couldve, had he got the ball. Our Role players are letting us down. Just my 2 cents..

It was another very poor performance from Yao. I'm willing to accept the fact that he can't run the court and isn't quick to the ball, but he had way too many turnovers tonight. The Rockets did a slightly better job getting him the ball in the second half. He got called for a couple 3-second violations and offensive fouls which were more mental errors then anything else. So far this season he looks to be a real liability on the defensive end because he doesn't run down the court very fast and he's slow on rotations. The rest of the Rockets will need to work extra hard to make up for this while he's on the court.

This is a game we should have won, but it's still really early. Let's not give up too soon. After what happened this year with the Astros, I'll take early losses during the regular season with a grain of salt. The important thing is making sure the team steadily improves through the course of the season, and avoiding injuries. I think we have a good nucleus to build a contender around over the next few years. For this season, we shouldn't put our expectations too high.

At some poit we have to start looking at Jeff Van Gundy . T-Mac and Yao combined for only 25 shots. That is ridicuous. JVG slows it down toooo much. Geez let the guys play. And we need a PG who can handle the ball. Man if we dont get a PG we will lose 50 games.

Taylor had a pretty good game IMO. He made two threes, which might help later on in other games as his range would be better-reputed and he could stretch the defense. Yao right now is a real disappointment. He is not doing well on post-up situations, and is not making free throws at the 80% clip he did last season. Now that it seems that he'll be getting 6-8 FTs a game, he needs to make sure he makes 80% of them. Ward is playing alright, but not like an All-Star. He is making the open shot and playing gritty defense, and besides, who else do we have? We can't afford to stick the rookie Barrett in crunch situations, and Ward is still our best option at PG. Nachbar did not do really well in this game; he did better against Detroit. He needs to get consistent to get consistent minutes.

Yeah I mean some of his decisions are awful...like doubling every person who had the ball at one point...what happened? Open Woods in Paint for the open dunk. What happeend to the defense? I was so hyped up to watch the game tonite...crusing thru school but when I do watch the game we get whooped by a team who didn't make the EASTERN CONFERENCE PLAYOFFS last season. (no offense raptor fans). I also know it's early but we should at least have better play.

Ah.. 80 more games to go at least. We seriously need to address the PG issue though. Our PGs barely have any assists at all...I hope when Sura comes back he'll be the answer to our problems.
