<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">HOUSTON (Oct. 28, 2003) - The Houston Rockets have signed forward Scott Padgett, general manager Carroll Dawson announced today. The 6-9, 240-pound forward has averaged 4.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 231 career games with the Utah Jazz.
After winning the 1998 NCAA Championship at the University of Kentucky, Padgett was selected by Utah with the 28th overall pick of the 1999 NBA Draft. Padgett averaged 2.6 points as a rookie with the Jazz and 2.1 points the following season. Padgett then set career highs with averages of 6.7 points and 3.8 rebounds during the 2001-2002 season, ranking seventh on the Jazz in both categories. During the 2001-2002 campaign, he also set career highs with 21 points at Denver on Feb. 20 and 15 rebounds at Memphis on Feb. 5. Last season, Padgett ranked sixth on the Jazz with 5.7 points per game, standing as one of three Utah players to appear in all 82 games. </div>

Scott's aquisition is a nice one for the Rockets. He has definete leadership qualities from his days in Kentucky. Granted those skills wont be called on here, however he does know how to win which is something the Rockets can always use more of. He is a great signing if some of our stars get injured.
