Game Info: 10:00 pm EDT Wed Apr 5, 2006 TV: KNWS, FxNW After losing the first two games on a six-game road trip, the Houston Rockets may catch a break. The Rockets look for their 10th straight win over Portland when they meet the Blazers, who are trying to avoid matching their longest losing streak in 20 years. Houston hasn't lost to Portland since an 85-78 defeat on Nov. 21, 2003. The Rockets have won both matchups with the Blazers this season with Tracy McGrady in the lineup. Without McGrady, who is sidelined with a back injury, the Rockets are just 5-22 this season. They fell to 0-2 on the road swing after a 104-87 loss at Seattle on Tuesday. Yao had 22 points and 10 rebounds, but fouled out in the opening minute of the fourth quarter. It was the first time he fouled out since Dec. 11 at Portland. "I don't understand my fouls. I don't understand it, it's a normal action," Yao said. Yao has notched four straight double-doubles, averaging 30.5 points and 11.8 rebounds in that stretch. Houston coach Jeff Van Gundy was displeased with his defense after Seattle forward Chris Wilcox posted 26 points and career-high 24 rebounds. "We played a very soft, non-contact game," Van Gundy said. "We had Wilcox jumping over us the whole game." Portland has lost 11 straight, one shy of a 12-game skid in 1986. Its latest loss was a 122-83 loss at Seattle on Sunday that prompted a players-only meeting afterward. Both of these teams are coming off losses to Seattle.
