Well the good thing is that we won but I couldn't help noticing things that could have improved a lot. Our free throws were crappy with 68% (T-Mac going 3-7 from the line), we got outrebounded 48-43, and some disappointment in player, with Juwan Howard having a nightmarish shooting night and Swift being disappointing with 6 pts, 5 fouls, 2 boards. Also, Luther Head got absolutely no playing time. But a lot of good things were seen too. Jon Barry was an unlikely hero, scoring 24 and 8 of 10 from the field (2-3 threes), Yao getting a hopefully typical 20-10 night and T-Mac doing well even after recovering from tendinitis.
There's already a thread for this game http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45349 Just saying. I don't think there's a need to start another thread for post-game talk when we can still use the other one.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Barry's stellar bench effort lead Rockets past Kings HOUSTON (Ticker) -- The Houston Rockets got a huge push off the bench from Jon Barry to defeat one of their biggest Western Conference rivals. Barry scored 24 points - one shy of his career high - and added three steals in just 26 minutes as the Rockets posted a 98-89 triumph over the winless Sacramento Kings. Houston trailed, 27-19, heading into the second quarter, but Barry scored the first six points en route to 12 in the period to help cut the deficit to 49-46 at the break. Yao Ming, who collected 22 points and 12 rebounds, scored five points during an 11-2 burst to open the second half as the Rockets took the lead for good. Tracy McGrady added 23 points for Houston, which had lost seven of its previous nine matchups against the Kings. Barry added 10 in the final period, including a 3-pointer that gave the Rockets a 78-67 lead. Sacramento rallied within 85-79 with 4:25 remaining on Kevin Martin's two free throws, but Yao connected on back-to-back baskets to put away the game. Bonzi Wells had 22 points and a career-high 18 rebounds for the Kings, who fell to 0-2. Brad Miller added 21 points but just six after the first quarter. </div> Well what an effort by Bonzi, 22 pts, 18 boards! And Brad Miller, a center with 7 assists! I can say, Mike Bibby is totally looking bad, and all you fantasy Bibby lovers must be kind of pissed off by his lack of stats. Well, what a start for the Kings, going 0-2.
