The main event of the night for a capacity crowd at Salt Lake Community College was the match-up of the Utah Jazz and new point guard Deron Williams (the third pick in the 2005 draft) versus the Atlanta Hawks and young forward Marvin Williams (picked second, and no relation)

The first quarter saw both teams struggling with their schemes and placement, not uncommon among summer league teams. But the Hawks raced out to an early 7-2 lead when Josh Childress hit a running jumper in the middle of the lane with 8:23 left. But new Jazzman Robert Whaley (51st pick in the draft) scored 4 of the Jazz?s first 7 points by hitting jumpers from the top of the key. Neither of the Williams? made much of an impact in their first action wearing the uniforms of their new employers.

The Hawks? Revue team boasts several players who have already spent a year or more on the NBA level. Childress, picked sixth in the 2004 draft, kept the Hawks ahead with 7 points in the first.

But the second quarter saw Deron Williams familiarize himself with one his new Jazz teammates, Kris Humphries. First it was a driving, spinning prayer by Williams, then a fade away bank shot by Humphries, followed by a Deron lay-up off a backdoor cut. Humphries put the Jazz up for the first time with a driving baby-hook, 28-26 with 2:16 left in the half. </div>

The Utah Jazz and Charlotte Bobcats battled on
Saturday night at the Rocky Mountain Review in front of a packed house
at Salt Lake Community College. Charlotte played without first round
draft pick Raymond Felton, who sat out with a strained left groin.
Utah outscored the Bobcats 22-13 in the third quarter and notched a
    73-69 win.

The Jazz took its first lead since the middle of the first quarter
when Spencer Nelson hit a free throw with 1:38 left in the third
quarter, to put the Jazz up 49-48. Utah outscored the Bobcats 42-32 in
    the second half.

Kris Humphries led the Jazz with a game-high 20 points and pulled down
six rebounds. Humphries scored seven of the Jazz first 14 points in
the second half, including a 3-pointer that pulled the Jazz within
    two, 41-39.

Utah hoped to take advantage of Felton's absence with the presence of
its No. 3 pick, Deron Williams. Williams got into early foul trouble
and played just two minutes in the first quarter, and picked up his
third foul with 6:08 left in the third quarter. Williams played just
eight minutes in the first half, missing his only shot and committing
five turnovers. Williams finished with four points and three assists.</div>

    Utah 62, Seattle 80

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Recap

Utah?s young bloods fell to the Seattle Supersonics, 80-62, in Monday night?s battle at the Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue. Utah falls to 2-1 adding a blemish to their perfect Revue record. Seattle chalks up its first win and moves to 1-2.

The Jazz and Sonics exchanged blows for the first five minutes of the game. Despite an air-defying dunk by Utah second-year guard Kirk Snyder (fed by rookie Spencer Nelson) Seattle quickly pulled ahead midway in the period. Led by guards Mateen Cleaves and Alex Scales (each with 4 points in the quarter), Seattle continued its run and closed the first up by 10 21-11. Jazz big man Jack Ingram, led Utah with four points, followed by Snyder with three.

The Jazz continued to flounder under the stifling Sonics defense through the second quarter, contributing only 13 points to their cause. Cleaves smothered Jazz point guard Deron Williams, who finished the half with a modest four points and one assist to three turnovers.

Utah came out fighting early in the third with 5 uncontested points. But free-throw shooting ultimately kept the Jazz from capitalizing on 15 Seattle fouls: the team shot only 11-19 in the third. Seattle guard Larry O?Bannon was the surprise of the game, dropping 11 points on the Jazz during the period.</div>

    Game 4

    Utah 74, Dallas 83

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Game Recap

The Dallas Mavericks held off a rugged Utah Jazz squad for an 83-74 win in the fourth night finale of the 2005 Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue. The Mavericks capitalized on 22 Jazz turnovers and 34 trips to the line to hold off Utah, which eliminated a late 15-point deficit.

The Jazz came out firing on all cylinders to start the game. Deron Williams got the team started, rolling off a screen and receiving the ball from Kirk Snyder before nailing a jumper from the left elbow. He followed that by making back-to-back assists on a Kris Humphries dunk and Kirk Snyder three. With the Jazz ahead 7-0 less than two minutes into the game, Rawle Marshall finally got the Mavs started with a quick flurry of explosive plays.

Marshall sank two free throws, hit a turnaround baseline jumper, then completed a put-back under the rim. Six quick points in less than two minutes helped the Mavs grab the lead, 10-9. Dallas would hold the lead until Deron Williams picked Filiberto Rivera?s pocket at midcourt, raced toward the goal alone with Rivera before switching the ball behind his back before reaching up for the successful finger roll.

That remarkable play put the Jazz up 13-12, and gave them momentum they would carry all the way through the end of the quarter with a 23-22 lead.</div>
