Looking at this video not only does it remind me of why Dennis Rodman is my favorite player of all-time, but it also reminds me of how much better the NBA was back before 1999 to me. It reminds me of why it was my favorite sport and the biggest part of my life as a child and teenager. The fouls weren't so frequent and play didn't stop every few seconds. There was more flow to the game and it made it more exciting to me. In any case I guess it is late and I'm just tired and ranting because I miss those old days. Hell though, I really do. I love this video and I miss watching Dennis Rodman play his game. Also, I miss watching Clyde Drexler and of course Michael Jordan.
I'm mixed about Rodman. On one hand, he had all the talent in the world. On the other, he simply didn't practice the fundamentals. I appreciate how he helped us win 3 championships. I just imagine the player he could have been if he worked at it. He did lead the nation in scoring in college, you know, so he could have been more than just a defense/rebounding specialist.
He won five championships and is still the best damn defender and rebounder in my book. In today's NBA, he wouldn't be much of a factor because the league is made for pussies. That's why I appreciate players like Andrés Nocioni who still is tough and aggressive, but can actually control his actions for the most-part. He would've been an even better player had he played in the league a decade ago.
