When I was cleaning up my room the other day I came across an old Chicago Bulls - Orlando Magic game I taped back in 1997 Granted, the Magic were recovering from their O'Neal loss, but hey, let's face it... Rony Seikaly wasn't nearly as bad as everyone expected... come to think of it, the guy did put up 30+ games on a regular basis (not too bad for a ho-hum plan B type player now is it?) Anyway, the Magic were without Penny, Horace and even Nick the Brick who were all injured at the time, so maybe that has something to do with it But, HELL, you gotta hear about Dennis Rodman: the guy manages to pull down 14 rebounds in the opening quarter (that's 14 boards in 12 minutes!!) Some of the better rebouders nowadays are happy to have that number in an entire game OK, I should also say that this particular game was the very first game in his career where is daughter Alexis was watching in the crowd, and knowing Rodman, he must have figured to make it a special game The guy ended up with a very comfortable double double (dude must have also figured he'd score some for his daughter) and Chicago came away with a very comfortable W Say what you want about Dennis Rodman, but the guy was so very usefull for his team Thanx for reading
Dennis Rodman was one(if not the best) of the best roleplayers ever to play the game. He was a GREAT defender. He is one of the main reason the bulls had that 72 win season.
That year they won 69. I remember ppl saying that they were sliding off. Getting 69 wins and saying that it was an ok year just shows how great of a team they were. 72, 69, and 64. Damn!
Rodman was no doubt a key part for that team. He pulled down rebounds like no one else has in years, he was an absolutely phenomenal defender, and he scored very timely baskets. He was a great player, and, without him, the Bulls might not have won those titles. Who knows though.
