yea i heard this on a news flash on mike and the maddog and the Nets website also confirms this!

    NJNets.com

debo was never really the same debo as he was in phx and in boston. i really want to like the guy but he's made so make mistakes and has been extremely inconsistant. when kmart went down and debo took his starting spot,he did better than he did off the bench. this is big for us in our efforts to keep kmart in nj. this is one step closer for us resigning kenyon and keeping kidd, which i think is just rumors at most because of all the rumors about needing to cut cost so it is something to sell papers. now when we trade kk, we need something in return. hopefully a young/quick talent who is cheap. best luck to ya debo, you had that foul line shot against the bucks to help us beat them and that started our sweeps of playoff series against the east. he is a nice guy, everyone liked him but he didnt get the job done. so best luck to debo in his future.

Rodney Rogers was a major dissapointment as a Net, when Rodney came to the team I was expecting the Rodney Rogers with a great combintaion of inside outside game for a man with his size. I was expecting the Rogers tat had so much success playing alongside Kidd from 99-01. But intead we got the Rogers that seemed to lack the effort level needed to make us a better team.

Rogers really only had one period of basketball where he played at a high level in a Nets uniform. And that was this year in the regular season, when K-Mart went down. He really step up during that period,so I give him credit for that. But soon as Martin came back for the playoffs he looked very much like the Rogers we seen for 2 seasons as a Net. And that Rogers can not help the Nets be a productive team.

I do give Rogers alot of credit for the shot he made vs the Bucks at the end of game 5. You neve know if he misses that shot & the Nets loose the game. And the Bucks take the 3-2 advantage instead of the Nets with game 6 being played in the Mil. Thats aeries could have very well came out with a different outcome. But Rogers shot made sure/eliminated all of those scenarios. But still his time as a Net had clearly run its course.

With Rogers gone, that makes it official that all the moves that were made after the 02' Finals that were surpose to be upgrades to win a championship all pretty much ended as busts. The trading of Van Horn for Deke, the signing of Chris Childs to bring him back to NJ, and adding Rogers. I hope that the front office thinks back on all those decision before just adding someone to the roster or letting someone go with all the offseason changes expected to be made this year.

    Peace Out Debo.

I don't know why Rogers wasn't as big a threat as he was with Boston... He used to terrorize the Sixers in the playoffs... But ever since he went to New Jersey, I haven't heard much about him at all. Maybe he'll go to a team that actually needs a nice scorer.

maybe it was the lack of attention/confidence byron scott had in him early. or that kmart played alot and debo didnt get as many minutes as he wanted/needed. for whatever reason he seemed to lose all his baseketball skills/knowledge when he signed here. i think he needs to go to a place where he can start to somewhere with a good coach so they can teach him and give him attention to get his confidence back up. everyone supported him here and he had PLENTY of chances to become the phx/boston rogers but it didnt happen.

veal's eye must have popped out of his head when he heard this knowing that he is basically the first pf off the bench, atrain is a pf but is our backup center so thats why i say brian is 1st pf. this will also give nenad/eddie more minutes. of course we dont know the status of eddie and if he is a definite shoe-in for the season or is going to become a mess and not play for us. and we dont know how much nenad can contribute since he is coming over from europe where he has to adjust to more things than normal rookies do. we all rooted for debo to succeed here and if he was the normal debo then we might have a nba championship banner hanging from CAA. he was everything but the normal debo and he realized that if he remained here in NJ, he would likely be on the trading blocks and figured he rather pick his own team to play for than to be dealt to any team so the nets can dump contracts.

It's just a matter of having too high expectations on Debo. Obviously, he didn't leave up to it. I wanted him to succeed very badly. I wish him luck.

I thought at first he was a great fit for the team but he cant run fast break and i thought that he had a really good half court game inside and out but i guess he didnt live up my expectations

Reports are saying that he failed to file the notice in time. That's why he's now an unrestricted FA. Now we have extra cash to help sign KMart.

yea because i thought i heard when the playoffs ended that debo was going to come back, then i read this and was actually shocked. he was bad as a net and not having to pay for him this year is one step closer to resigning kmart. if we can ship kerry somewhere, we are basically guarenteed to resign kenyon imo.

yeah but if we get rid of kerry we definatly better get someone back that can replace his numbers. Because this guy did put numbers on the board.

i dont think we need all of kk's # b/c rj is coming into his zone and kmart is improving also. i think we need a 3pt shooter. i think that can really help us and stretch out the defense. also need an average defender coming in and i think we as a team and help that person improve his defense here to be above average. and i would also like youth in return. someone who has confidence in his shot. kk lacked confidence at times and wouldn't shoot. and we all know when kk had really good game, we were basically unbeatable b/c he wasnt the focus of the defense's strat so he had some open shots. so, 3pter/avg defender/youth thats what i would like to see in return. i think the most important part would be getting a 3pter. something that i didnt mention that i hope doesn't need to be said, but whoever we get (hopefully a sg in return) will be our starting sg. i don't want to see lu be our starter. if he can get his shot back,he is an ok backup. hes too old and slow to be our starter. other sgs will run laps around him because that is a young and quick position, something lu isnt.

It's strange, but I'll miss him. Sure he's not who he used to be, but let's put it this way, at least he's not ultra underachieving like say Walker, KVH and DC. Seems players like him, Harris and Collins try harder even if they don't play well ever since Frank came. He was useful, that's all I can say, he could rebound on his better days. One of our more useful bench players.
