Ron Capps topped Funny Car qualifying Friday in the NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways. Capps had a 4.119-second pass at 298.47 mph during the second qualifying session. He earned his first career victory at Pacific Raceways in 1995, and has won twice more at the track.
