The prospect of seeing David Beckham, Ronaldinho and Steven Gerrard take on the likes of Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs is the stuff of fantasy football. But the Jubliee Charity Match at Old Trafford on 13 March, which celebrates 50 years of Manchester United in European competition, will witness exactly that after Barcelona confirmed that four of their players will join the ranks of Marcello Lippi?s all-star Europe XI squad. Ronaldinho, two-time FIFA World Player of the Year, is joined by his defensive team-mates Carles Puyol and Lilian Thuram, and midfielder Gianluca Zambrotta. Old Trafford legend Sir Bobby Charlton said: ?It promises to be a fantastic occasion with Ronaldinho and David Beckham facing our Manchester United team. Every young football fan would relish the chance to see all these great players. It?s one of those rare opportunities to see European football?s finest players together on one pitch, and Old Trafford is the perfect stage.? Tickets for the match can be purchased online, by calling 0870 442 1994, or at the Old Trafford ticket office. Adult prices are from ?17.50 (including free souvenir programme worth ?5), Seniors are ?12.50 and under-16s are ?5. All profits from the match go to the Manchester United Foundation, which will leave a legacy in local, national and global communities. The focus for the Foundation is to inspire young people through the provision of a range of football and educational programmes. This will be achieved through delivery in local schools and forming partnerships with other young people organisations. The match also celebrates 50 years since the Treaty of Rome, which paved the way for a united Europe. Lilian Thuram has already accepted another invitation to be an ?ambassador? for the unite.
