Ancelotti: Ronaldo Still Doubtful For Empoli Clash
Ronaldo could be out of action for another week at least, according to AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti...
Ronaldo's return to the AC Milan lineup could be delayed yet again as Carlo Ancelotti pleaded caution ahead of this weekend's San Siro clash with Empoli. "We're not in any hurry," said the manager. "It's far from certain that Ronaldo will take part on Sunday. Of course, we're all working hard, but nothing's a sure thing at this stage." Ronaldo was originally scheduled to return at the start of the current season, but a series of injury and fitness concerns have rendered all 'good news' announcements from vice-president Adriano Galliani premature. Ancelotti's task has been rendered all the tougher by the international break, that has several of his key players still away with their respective national teams. With the likes of Bonera, Seedorf, Gilardino, Simic, and above all Kaka still on the road, Ancelotti can't commit to much ahead of the Round 8 Serie A encounter. "We'll have another look once all our options are together," he said. "It'll be easier to tell [about Ronaldo] once he gets back into training and kicking the ball around with the whole team." Milan have endured a disappointing start to the domestic season thus far, sitting seven points off the pace with just two wins so far.
