Render and BG seem low quality. Try sharpening the render. On the main GIMP dialog box, select the blur / sharpen tool -- it's on the last row, looks like a rain drop. Double click it and select sharpen and play with the Rate setting. Then just go over the render with the tool. It takes a while to figure out how much to sharpen and stuff, but it's a useful tool. It makes everything much crisper.

Kind of off-topic, but would anyone here happen to know how to make brushes bigger in gimp like you can in PS? I want to darken the edges, but the brushes are so small it's hard to do.

Looks good - And Captain you can use dark stocks and just erase them over the render to darken edges.

or make a new layer fill it with black, and set it to a lighter setting, and mess with the opacity of it.
