He said when he played w/ Parker he was a weak PG that shot too much. Keep in mind they talk every other day, so he wasn't trashing him. Those 3 played together for 3 years. * Playing for the Lakers is a dream come true. He wants to finish his career here. * He wants to gain 15 more pounds and play Ben Wallace style. * He said a sentence Fred gave him in a few languages. He speaks Spanish, Creole, French, English, and Italian.. * Was a goalie until age 14 when his father encouraged him to play basketball. * Brian Grants hair is better than his. * In regards to playing w/ Kobe he wants to set screens, rebound, and hustle. Thats his role. Says Kobe is one of the best players on Earth. * He wants to get better in every aspect of his game. * Hasn't signed his contract, but really wants to prove he's worth it. * Hasn't seen any women because he goes straight from his hotel to the practice facility. * Loved Gonzaga * Talked to Phil, PJ said his role is a hustler. * If he wasn't a basketball player he'd work a 9-5 job in the Carribean and chill on the beach after work. He was on 570 too...so a couple of the things I listed could be from there. The thing that sticks out here is he is a fantastic interview. He was really funny and engaging. I'd say that right now he is the best interview on the whole team...easy. If he has any game on this level, he has the makings to be a really popular player. Roggin couldnt get enough of him.</div> I'm really optimistic about this 2nd round pick. Looks like PJ wants Turiaf to be his Rodman in the future. Original post
Turiaf is our best pick of the draft IMO. He's gonna be close to immediate help for us. Just what we needed.
Turiaf is the perfect pick for us. If he can pan out and become a Ben Wallace type player for us, that will be a huge lift in the future. Imagine a frontcourt of Bynum and Turiaf in the future, if they both pan out how they should. With Kobe in the backcourt, Lamar at the 3, and Caron off of the bench...now, that is just sick.

Just got back from the SPL Laker game vs. the Mavs. Turiaf had a very good game, scoring a team-high 23 pts I think. He's already a fan favorite just by hustling for rebounds, emphatic two-handed dunks and showing great energy overall.
