So sad. The Rose Garden was one of the classiest arena names in professional sports. They will probably call it something like The MODA Health Rose Garden. Doesn't matter. It just sounds stupid. It really doesn't impact the roster. It's not like this gives us $4.2 million in cap space. So, the product won't be any better, and I seriously doubt they will LOWER ticket prices or the cost of beer and hot dogs. So, it's just additional profit with no benefit to the fans. Shit, I'm going to see Pearl Jam there in November. Can't wait to tell my date we are going to the MODA Health Arena instead of the Rose Garden. BNM

Well your probably right but the $4.2 million adds up, that is $42 million over 10 years. It might be the difference in Paul Allen deciding to pay some luxury tax one season if its the difference between us contending. He might be fine paying tax if the Blazers company as a whole will still be in the black but doesn't want to have to stick $42 million of his own money into the company from some other investments.

I'll still call it the rose garden. 4 million a year covers the $$ allowed to be included per year for NBA transactions, so I figure the naming rights helps to grease the wheels on a trade or two per year. A few new banners and signs around I'll likely ignore. woohoo

Wasn't the Comcast deal $180 million over 10 years? What did that get us? A bunch of pissed off fans who can't watch the games and the team right back in the lottery. If there is one thing Paul Allen has proven, all the money in the world can't overcome bad decisions. BNM
