    Batum: out for a while
    Outlaw: out for a while
    Pendergraph: out for a while
    Mills: out for a while

That means even IF everyone is healthy, we have 11 guys.

Does Portland cut Mills at this point to pick up a big body from somewhere to help out? Maybe Portland trades Travis's expiring contract for a player from a team that could use cap relief?

I think they certainly need to look at that as an option, but I really don't know who they would pick up that is available. And I am not so sure I would rather cut Mills than Pendergraph.

I think a trade would be a little more likely, sending out Rudy or Blake with an injured player and bring back a BU PF.

Should have signed Udoka, this would be the time when we could have used his services. But its too late now, and all the depth we thought we had at SF is now depleted.

I don't get that line of thinking... Outlaw didn't play the small forward much, if at all. I don't see how Ime's presence would help us.

I don't see why this means we have to do anything other than give Roy more minutes at SF and expand Rudy's minutes. The C position is just as it was before. We have 48 mpg * 4 for the remaining 4 positions

PF: 35 minutes for LA, 10 mins for Howard, 3 mins for Cunningham
SF: 25 minutes for Roy, 20 minutes for Webster, 3 mins for Cunningham
SG: 10 minutes for Roy, 28 minutes for Rudy, 10 minutes for Blake
PG: 30 minutes for Miller, 18 minutes for Blake.

Voila! And that's without even giving Bayless anything! So:

Aldridge: 35 mpg (more if both centers are in foul trouble, or just more of it at C and more minutes for Howard at PF)
    Roy: 35 mpg
    Miller: 30 mpg
    Blake: 28 mpg
    Rudy: 28 mpg
Joel and Greg split the 48 at C (but see above)
    Webster: 20 mpg

That's an 8-man rotation (normal) scraps for the rest. Sad that EVEN NOW, I can see nothing but scraps for Bayless.

Ugh, this has been a theme the last three seasons.

2008 - Martell Webster: Out for year

2009 - Players like out for a majority of the season:
    -Jeff Pendergraph
    -Patty Mills
    -Travis Outlaw
    -Nic Batum

Are you going to cry about it? Look at any teams injury list for any year and they will have just as many if not more. This is a part of the NBA.

Not sure why that has to be told to some posters every single day.

If there HAD to be a trade, then the only thing I would try is Martell for somebody more trustworthy at the SF, because I just don't feel comfortable with Webster on the court, and I'm not sure I want to see him get expanded minutes. Martell for James Jones straight up? Martell for James Posey?

Oh, or if NJ would give us Terrence Williams for Bayless, I guess I wouldn't mind that.

I don't see the problem. 11 players is enough. Howard, Rudy, Martell, Dante are all hungry for more minutes. Play on.

.....he isn't as good as our other guards, of which we still have a healthy profusion.

Well they almost dealt Outlaw to MEM for a 1st round draft pick, so I certainly could see him being dealt. I don't see POR resigning him next year...not with deals for Oden, Rudy, Batum and (perhaps) Bayless coming up....

Golden State was looking to make some deals and Anthony Randolph is in the doghouse with Crazy Nellie again....I would love to see POR pry him away from that inept front office....I like crazy Stephen Jackson too...and he is likely attainable...

Aldridge is currently playing about 31 minutes a game. I don't see how he's going to be over 35 minutes a game. Foul trouble alone will prevent it on some nights.

Oden and Joel are averaging under 42 minutes a game combined.

Outlaw played about 80% of his minutes at the power forward spot this year.

I'm not sure that I want Howard playing 20 minutes a game, but he's the only one on this roster than can play the 4/5 spots other than those three.

We had five healthy players that are 6'9" or taller. That's not many.

Now we have four, and that's pretty pitiful.

Is there any way we can get a waiver from the league to sign Mensah-Bonsu and have 16 players? Would that only be possible if you fall below the 8 healthy minimum?

Oden and Joel should be averaging 48 minutes between the two of them. Anything less is evidence of insanity and we can have Nate committed if he keeps it up.

LMA, barring injury/foul trouble, can play a lot of minutes; Howard the rest of them.

You're right. That seems weirdly low.

Well, then they must be calling the games radically differently from last year, because he averaged 37 mpg last season.

I'd say "likely" was putting it mildly! They've essentially said they'll give him away if anyone will take him!

Webster and Bayless for Jackson works. I'd say that was fair talent-wise, but, but, "culture", "JailBlazers" etc. etc.

But hey, Poppovich won a title with Jackson as his starting SG...

Well, he's already in the rotation according to Nate. All he has to do is out play 2/10 Blake to get some more minutes. :dunno:
