Roy isn't as mature as we thought

This guy seriously needs to grow a pair. Does anyone remember him playing like this in years past? I know I don't. He usually starts off the games slow, but consistently this year it's like he's pouting out there that the ball isn't in his hands. Nate even called him out for it specifically at halftime. I know he didn't have a great game last night, but damn the dude is too passive. The times he wasn't double teamed in the first half he wasn't even looking to shoot or create. Passing around the perimeter and slo-motion post entry passes. I think he should really have a one on one with Dre and clear the air or something. You can't go through an entire season and be 100% effective without having a conversation between two of your best players. You may win some games, but the chemistry isn't there.

I agree. Roy was way too passive last night. Where's the leadership from our best player in one of the biggest games of the year? And why can Miller get to the rim at will, but Roy can't?

That's another great point I forgot to add. Roy can get to the rim at will. Before we thought he wasn't doing it because of his hamstring, but he hasn't done it all year. The last 3 years he lived in the paint, but not anymore. It's sad because now that I think of it, Roy even admitted Webs of all people called him out about moping. Let's go dude. Don't feel threatened by a 35 yr old pg. This is your team, act like it.

Short term memory loss? I watched Roy get to the rim just the other night against New York. Usually with him taking abuse from the defenders and not getting a call. Heck, I watched him get to the rim against OKC and Dallas. He looked to me like he just didn't have the legs last night. That and when Roy had the ball the Nuggets would stack his side, he would try and weave around the guy who popped out on him (usually Nene or Birdman), usually forcing him to pass to one of our jump shooters who tossed up bricks. Miller noticed the attention that Roy was getting and pretty much dominated the ball all game.

The Nuggets defend the rim really well compared to any of the teams we've beaten lately. He looked and played intimidated by their defenders from the tipoff.

Nate didn't get the team to adjust to the Nuggets' D and it was recipe for disaster. We need better picks and ball moment and less iso plays against these teams that can defend.

...not funny... I'm getting "fixed" in a couple weeks, so I don't want to hear any talk of "missing testicles"...

Roy picks and chooses the games he shows up for. Superstars show up every game. It's that simple. Kobe, Lebron, KD, Dirk and Nash would have had 28+ last night. That's also why their teams we are looking to catch every year, it's not rocket science!

Really? How did you come to this conclusion? You seem to have your pulse on the team, so I eagerly await your answer.

Um.... I understand basketball, winners HATE to lose and guys like Kobe, Lebron, KD would dive through the backboard head first to win a championship! I don't see that with Roy. Roy expects now, what he's forgotten is the elite also produce!

LeBron is 0 for 6 thus far in his career. Perhaps he literally needs to dive through a backboard, instead of just in your imagination. Durant hasn't even played in a playoff game, and he flamed out of the NCAA tournament in the second round against an average USC team.

Dirk was especially impressive in that non-collapse against the Heat in 2006.

What a fucking joke. I guess no other superstar has ever had a bad game. I love bashing our star players when they have an off night. Great fans. You must be so perfect as to be able to criticize others for being less than perfect.

BR7 is going to have to find his jumper again before he can get back to the rim.

His team mates as well. Otherwise everyone's going to throw 2 and 3 guys at him.

That being said, something is missing that was there his first 3 seasons. I think he used to care about what others thought about him as an individual player. Players, media, fans etc.

I don't see that anymore. I don't see the spark he used to have. I'm also not sure he's 100% fit and might not be the rest of the way.

It's nothing about maturity. It's about getting a player going. Roy averages 12 points a game vs the Nuggets in Denver, and he averages 27 points against them at home. Maybe instead of trying to get Lamarcus going at the beginning of the game in Denver, they need to focus more on getting Roy going, at least when they are in Denver. Denver is not a team that you can just sit back and turn it on. You have to bring your A game from quarter 1. When the coaching staff recognizes that, and makes and adjustment, we will give ourselves a better chance to win there.
