The 6-foot-6 guard said he needs to meet with Huskies coach Lorenzo Romar, who has been out of town recruiting this week, before making any decision firm.

Yet Roy acknowledged yesterday that no one should be surprised if his choice is to bypass early entry to the NBA draft for the second time since leaving Garfield High School and use his fourth season of UW eligibility.

"It's fair to say that," he said. "There's a huge opportunity for me next year. I could come back and be a lottery pick and a Wooden Award candidate. This program is at a high level. I want to be a guy who keeps it there."

Roy's decision will come at a hectic time for the Huskies, not yet a month removed from a second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 29-6 season.

Prized forward recruit Martell Webster appears headed to the NBA rather than the UW, with the Huskies coaching staff hoping his verdict is delivered by the end of next week.

Nate Robinson, the UW's All--Pac-10 guard, last week declared his intentions to skip his senior season and pursue an NBA career.</div>
