Yeah, we all knew he would win it but I'd thought I'd post it...<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Brandon Roy, guard for the Portland Trailblazers, was chosen as the NBA's Rookie of the Year on Wednesday after leading all rookies with an average of 16.8 points, 4.0 assists and 35.4 minutes in 57 games.Roy received 127 out of a possible 128 first-place votes (638 points) for the award, known as the Eddie Gottlieb Trophy, from a panel of sports writers and broadcasters.Toronto's Andrea Bargnani finished second with 264 points and Memphis' Rudy Gay was third with 93 points.</div>-RealGM.
I think Roy deserved it!! Because of him, the team won a few more games than they were supposed too. Congrats man!! I've been watching this guys scince he was a Huskey!!!

Not really a competition. Bargnani wasnt really going to catch up much anyways, though the 15 games hurt.

Im telling yall now, this rookie class is still going to be very good. As I said it the beginning of the season, this is potential/young draft. Rudy Gay, Bargs, Roy, Foye, Ty Thomas(I used to feel he was going to be the next Stro..but hes shown alot), and the late 1st rnders, Rondo, Marcus Williams, Kyle Lowry, etc.Roy defiently deserved it, but I feel Bargs and Rudy will become better...just IMO

If any do happen to be all stars, it will be injuries to the other guys that helps them get there. These guys are just in the wrong era. Most of each position on each conference is locked up for a few years. Maybe once some of these guys retire (like Shaq, Duncan, and people like this), then they might, but not within the next 5 years.
The rookie class this year overall sucked balls. They might be aight in the future, but that may take a couple years.
Bargs, Thomas and Rudy are all extremely young, and I know that Rudy does have a advantage, cause hes really the future of his position in the west(sg/sf) as well as J. Howard, Melo and Martin. I think Bargs is going to be good enough to get into the allstar game in the East. Foye can be good, and once again, if Ty Thomas becomes what he can, hes the type to be voted a starter by the fans.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (austingriz @ May 2 2007, 06:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Bargs, Thomas and Rudy are all extremely young</div>the thing is that you can say that about every draft class every year, this was the oldest draft class since '94 in fact.
I like the older classes, and yes they do always seem "boring" because with everyone coming out so early now, if you don't everyone just assumes you weren't good enough to come out early. I respect the guys that stay 4 years in college.
