The Kansas City Royals hired Dale Sveum to handle infield instruction and other coaching duties, three days after he was fired as manager of the Chicago Cubs. The Royals also announced Thursday that the contracts of third base coach Eddie Rodriguez and bench coach Chino Cadahia were not renewed. Cadahia had been on personal leave to attend to a family matter late in the season, and the Royals said he will be offered another opportunity within the organization.
