Well these are 2 very good players, Rudy Gay is going to be playing for UConn and Corey Brewer will play in the SEC for Florida. So my question is, how will these 2 perform next season?

Rudy Gay is on the National Champion UConn Huskies team. He was the top ranked SF in the class of 2004. So how will he fit in? He's very skilled in the paint, very good on the boards, moreso on the offensive end, and has a good mid-range jumper. Rashad Anderson and Charlie Villanueva are the 2 main SF's. Rashad can also play the 2. So if Charlie and Rashad alternate at the SF spot, where does this leave Rudy Gay?

Now onto Corey Brewer. He will be playing for the Florida Gatores. He was the 5th ranked overall SF in the class of 2004. Brewer is a very good defensive player, has a very long wingspan and put up some very nice numbers as a senior in HS. So how will he do in the NCAA? I feel he will do good, mainly on the defensive end with that wingspan of his. Problem with him is he needs to pack on some pounds. He's 6'7", 170 lbs. I really like this guy and I hope he does good.

Well I live near Rudy Gay so I had the privelage of watching him play at Archbishop Spalding. He has tremendous ability. He is a great rebounder and finisher. And has a decent shooting touch. He dominated all but one team all this year. He can play the 4 that's what he played this year. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

    Rudy Gay

    Archbishop Spalding, senior

Few players have burst onto the national stage in just one summer as the 6-foot-9 Gay did. Gay's showing at national camps resulted in his stock rising from a top-100 player to a top-10 player. He also received the prestige of being named a McDonald's All-American.

An All-Metro pick as a junior, Gay grew two inches and put on 15 pounds in the offseason. He also fined-tuned his high flying act and signed with Connecticut before the start of the season.

The result was a senior season in which the multi-talented forward with long arms and an exceptional wing span averaged 21.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.9 blocks. Gay played above the rim, but he also can launch three-pointers from NBA distance or hit short jumpers off his variety of spin moves.

Fans turned out in big numbers to see Gay put on a show and they rarely were disappointed. Gay won the Jerry Savage Player of the Year award for the Baltimore Catholic League regular season and led the No. 2 Cavaliers (29-8) to the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference tournament title over then-No. 1 Cardinal Gibbons, 64-45.

In the MIAA final, Gay, who was named to the Alhambra all-tournament team, scored 29 points, 14 coming on seven spectacular dunks, grabbed 10 rebounds and had three steals in front of a record crowd at Gilman.

Gay finished his two years at Spalding with 1,181 points, the third-highest total in school history. Including his first two years at Eastern Tech, Gay had 1,588 career points.

His ability to block shots or make opponents alter them, coupled with having the quickness of a guard, led a Cavaliers defense that was 22-1 when holding teams under 60 points.

Gay will play in the McDonald's All-American game March 31 in Oklahoma City, Okla., as well as the Jordan Capital Classic April 17 at Comcast Center</div>

Let's just say Josh Boone and Charlie Villanueva need to step up there game or get out.

What's wrong with Boone's game? If I'm not mistaken, Boone did excellent in the games that Okafor didn't compete in because of back injury's. In the NCAA tourney, Boone even stepped it up yet another notch and did great, even with Okafor there. I think if anyone needs to step it up it's Charlie. He didn't get a whole lot of minutes this past season. However, the minutes he does get, he needs to be very productive. If not, seems as though Rudy Gay might be taking his spot.

Yeah they both played great but, Rudy Gay is the superstar type player, like KG, and Boone and Villanueva are like Derrick Coleman(in the NBA of course).

So your saying even after the stats Boone put up and how much he did for the UConn team last year, that even right now he has to worry about Rudy Gay? There's no way. When you said Boone and Charlie need to step up their game, it should only be Charlie. Without Boone, UConn would have not been NCAA Champions. Without Charlie, they had a much better chance of being NCAA champs. If I'm not mistaken, Charlie didn't get close to as many minutes as Boone did in the season, at least the trourney for that matter.

That's because, Rashad Anderson really stepped it up at the 3 position, and he didn't get as much playing time in the regular season because of his academic violations.

So as I said before, Charlie is the one who needs to step it up, not Boone.
