He's playing about 15 mpg so far.. I think for the pre-season we are trying to get Andre acclimated moreso than Rudy.
Last time Rudy got a good pass it was from Sergio. So far Andre has minimized Roy and Rudy to the point where they may as well be selling drinks in the stands rather than on the court. He needs to go before this team implodes.
Listen, Rudy is our best player, I'm not saying it just in the negative way - based on Roy's ability so far, but also in a good way - he's truly a great player. I'm not saying Roy should go to the bench, I've suggested it once but since backed off from that idea, I do feel like we need our best players in the Starting unit, and the 2-3 would be best manned by Roy and Rudy. As long as we have Rudy playing 9 minutes per, players will never respect coach's heirarchy, I think that even if Outlaw/Martell would lose 5 minutes per, but would feel they're in a more logical system, they'll accept the change. This is the lineup as I see it: Miller/Blake Rudy/Webster/Bayless Roy/Outlaw/Batum Aldridge/? ? Why I added a ? where the Centers should have been - because, and I should have mentioned it earlier, I'm still not sure who's our best center.
You lost me when you said "Rudy is our best player" - you have to be kidding. I like Rudy but he's at best our 4th or 5th best player - at best.
I'm sorry I lost you cause my main idea wasn't that Rudy is our best player but that he's best suited to be B-Roy's "other swingman". And I also still think he's our best player.
I'm starting to come around to the idea of Roy/Rudy starting together at the 2/3 spots...but seriously dude, saying that Rudy is a better player than Roy seriously undermines any credibility one can have on an anonymous message board. Rudy's PER was barely average last year--against reserves--and his defense was far below. By what measure could he possibly be better than Roy?
But even if he's not as good as Roy, it's not a good thing having your two best players playing the same position.
So Andre Miller has one good game and now he is minimized Roy and Rudy. Aaah I see. Your basketball wisdom is once again, way beyond everybody else's. That must be what happens when your favorite player plays so well, they get relegated to the worse team in the league.
You did catch my first sentence, right? However, I think it's a stretch to call Rudy our second-best player--above Aldridge, Oden, and Miller, all of whom I think are better. In fact, it's debatable whether Rudy is even our second-best swingman. I mean, exactly what is the difference between Rudy and Martell? Rudy's a better passer, and Martell's a better defender? Martell seems to be having a better pre-season so far, and it's not as though there was a huge disparity in numbers between the last full season for each. And of course, let's not discount Nic--clearly a superior defender (though 4 years younger) and apparently ready to expand his offensive game this year. IMO, he's got a brighter future than Rudy, and may well be better this year. So yes, while I think there's some merit to the "should Rudy start" discussion, elevating him to "[one of our] two best players" status seems more than a bit premature.

No... that can't be it. I think they're just pissed at Miller. I'm starting to really not like him...
