<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Pioneer Press - Charley Watters of the Pioneer Press wrote on Wednesday that there was a "Trade Rumor: Ricky Davis as part of a Timberwolves package to the 76ers for Allen Iverson."Iverson was rumored to be on the block back in February and the Wolves appear willing to add an All-Star caliber player to their club this summer.Source: http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/s...rs/14485568.htm</div>Don't know how true this is (as always), but that would be a good situation for both Iverson and Garnett. As for the Sixers, you really can't judge based solely on Davis, because others willl also be involved.

Interesting, I doubt it's true though.

Yeah... but I mean, if McHale is truly interested in bringing in Marbury, he might as well take a shot at Iverson.

I dont like it. A tandem of Iguodala and Davis doesnt seem right.

Well time will tell if this is indeed true. But it would be very tough to match up the contracts. Ricky only makes $5-6M per year, while Iverson gets his superstar contract. That's roughly $7-10M to make up for with fillers. I guess this might work:

Davis, Jaric, and Banks (sign and trade) for Iverson would probably work financially. And Minnesota would most likely have to fork up picks/cash.

But either way, I don't see that happening. I think it's a no brainer for McHale to try, but I think if Philly really is looking to part ways with AI, then they could probably get a better package.

Too little for a guy like Iverson, Ricky's the man and all, don't get me wrong, I loved him in Boston but he needs to be throwing up tons of shots to be really productive. I don't think he would work well in Philly. Him and Iggy on the same team would be exciting though.

I dont see why Minny would want to trade Davis. honestly, do you think KG and Iverson would work? their would be some major issues there unless they had 2 balls on the court at the same time. This wont happen.

I could see an Iverson/Garnett tandem workin out pretty well actaully. Iverson loves to shoot, and Garnett would rather pass the ball than put it up himself. I agree though that that isnt enough to get Iverson. The Sixers could get alot more from another team, but we all saw what the Lakers got from Shaq, so i guess anythings possible.

The issue is Minnesotta wants to keep KG happy. They want to make a splash in the offseason to show to him that they want to win and build around him. I think adding Iverson is about as big of a splash you can realisitcally make. It may not be the best move for their future since they would be losing Davis and some other young guys who have alot of potential, but in the short term, it would make KG happy and give them something to look forward too. Regardless of whether or not it would work, on paper, that is a terrific tandem..

Garnett is a superstar in the League. he would be pissed if he were the 2nd option to a guy like Iverson who shoots 200 times a game. Even if he is sometimes passive, he would be very angry if he were in a situation where he couldnt dominate offensively. He would want it to be his team too, not Iverson's. They do need some help but that means you just build around Garnett. They already have Davis, he is a very good swingman in the League who can score 20 ppg and do the other things. He is a decent passer and a good rebounder and his defense has improved. They do need another scorer, thats why I sort of expect Terry to join their squad. Iverson is way too drastic though.

Do you watch KG play? The guy only averages 15 shots a game. I'm pretty sure there would be plenty of shot for both KG and Iverson. Another thing, KG isnt the type of player to argue about who is getting more shots. All he wants to do is WIN. As long as i've seen KG play, thats the one constant thing, his desire to win. I think Garnett would be thrilled playing with Iverson. Plus Iverson would give the T-Wolves a player to close out games. Someone to take game winners and what not. This trade would defenantly put the T-Wolves as a favorite winning their divsion.

I gaurantee you he would be ecstatic if they acquired Iverson. This may have been an issue earlier in their careers, but at this point, both of these guys have matured and Im sure they would get along fine and make a great duo. I dont think its enough to truely challenge anyone out west, but clearly this would be a great move in the short term for them. The only problem I have is that they are trading their youth for an aging player. Albeit Iverson is still a star in this league, he is getting older, so the window of oppurtunity for the two of them would be rather small. If they can acquire him and put some other pieces around Iverson and Garnett, they could be a dangerous team..

Iverson isnt the way to go. They can make their team even better by adding solid offensive players that dont hog the ball, dont ask for much money than have Iverson scoring 30 and Garnett scoring 20. Who scores after that?Just seems like a dumb move to give up so many players to get Iverson, when their team wouldnt even be that good with Iverson.

I would be so pissed if that would happen. I mean nobody even close to being proven would replace him at the point. It would either be Louis Williams or John Salmons :thumbdn1:

John Salmons needs to go, but I'm hoping Cheeks will give Louis Williams some minutes next season. I think the kid has the potential to be a solid starting point guard in this league, especially when Iverson is out of town or he retires (whichever comes first). Louis has the potential to be a Gilbert Arenas type player... but not nearly as good. I'm desperately hoping for him to get minutes next season.

I dont understand why Philly would even trade AI he is seriously a canidate for the best scorer in the game....! The guy plays with so much heart and has given so much to the philly franchise! If he does get traded i hope its to the east! So he can beat Philly's ass more times than he could in the west!

If Philly does trade AI then they would need alt more than this offer includes, no way I would touch this offer if I were the Sixers.
