I'm probably the only fan here without any game access, but are Aldridge and Batum really hustling and trying? It looks like they are really struggling too.

I'm starting to think that both of them are good third players on a team that is missing number 1 and 2. And, maybe it would be best to cut them loose for draft picks so you have more shots on goal to land someone who really wants to win and has the talent to be the MAN.

If Bogut and Steph get/stay healthy I really like this duo.

I'm gonna be mighty pissed if management stands pat with this bullshit fiasco of a team. If we are in rebuild, then fucking trade our expirings for picks at least. Make a fucking move assholes! Either we win now or retool. What you decide by trade deadline will give us an idea.

I mean so fucking what about this imaginary cap space shit! Do you really think some free agent wants to be a part of this pile of dog shit? We either trade and be relevant now or trade to gain picks, even if we take on a salary in process. This Luke warm shit is making me sick!

I think Aldridge is trying, but when nobody can hit an outside shot, a team like Indy can pack the paint and make it really difficult for him to do much. Nic simply loses confidence in his shot when he misses a few and then he gets very tentative and reluctant to shoot. I think that if the team had a true perimeter scorer who could steady the boat the way Roy used to when things were going bad, Nic would be fine. Maybe he'll develop his confidence and become more consistent with more experience, but if I were GM, he wouldn't be untouchable.

Hey e blazer just FYI, Indiana didn't even double Aldridge tonight. They pushed him out with just a single player.

True, but they had plenty of big guys in the paint. It wasn't as if he just had to beat his man to get to the hole.

Do you think having a jersey printed up replacing "BLAZERS" with "GENERALS" and sending it to the team would be too subtle of a way to express my displeasure with this bunch?

Now hold on here, getting mad and yelling at cap space is one thing but... yea nvm. It sucks because we know we won't get anything like the Lakers would with our capspace but unless were taking on salary to bring back a really good player or a really good pick I can see were they are going by keeping our players. In two years the tax rules for luxury tax are going to rewrite how contracts are given out in the NBA. When 3mill over is 9 mill then 16 mill the next season I think the avg contract will go down a lot. I just hope we haven't screwed ourselves by then.

No need to worry about that. The Blazers don't have enough talent to garner that kind of cash.

That would be hilarious! You are right about most games with Aldridge though. This was the first time I actually saw a team be able to play Aldridge one on one.

even if we did, who would want to sign here knowing what the blazers are doing to Crawford (if we eventually trade him 1/2 season after he signed here).

Until we have a competent management, I won't count on it.

Word, gamble for the Warriors but could really pay off.

Doubt it, not much out there really. But agree, if they do it will not look good for the Blazers.

Really? How so? What's your reasoning? Everyone and their momma knew that JC was only here for the season. He made it pretty clear upon signing what his plan was. I really can't see the affecting future signings.

I'd say the bigger deterent would be our current player, management, and coaching situations.

I feel like Bogut is a myth

I don't think there's a less covered team in the big 3 professional sports than the Milwaukie Bucks. You practically never hear about them.

How about a Lee/Bogut PF/C tandem? Two of the best passing bigs in the league, both really good rebounders, have some skill on offense, Bogut can cover Lee's ass to an extent (though FWIW hes not that bad in Mike Malone's team defense scheme). Am I crazy to say that they would be up there with Pau/Bynum and Z-Bo/M. Gasol if Bogut stays healthy?

Curry/Klay/Lee/Bogut aint a terrible core to build around. A little under-athletic but all really high IQ players who play the game the right way. Klay and Bogut actually play sound defense despite not being great athletes. Would be insane if they shut Curry down and managed to fall into the bottom 7 of the draft, get their pick back and add another talented prospect. S-Jax is an expiring after next season as well. They just beat the Kings in Sac by their largest margin of the season yet without Curry, Monta, Udoh, or Kwame though... ball movement is already visibly better without Monta.

I was just gonna ask the same question lol. I overpaid for Curry and my only real chance of winning it is if he comes back and plays good.

That's a tough one. The trade seems to suggest they kind of gave up on the season. Apparently when the players found out one of them who didn't get traded said "well if we're giving up on the season then I can already feel my hip hurting". Mark Jackson was apparently not very happy with the trade. He guaranteed playoffs at the beginning of the year and thats what the team was still focused on. Joe Lacob guaranteed playoffs to season ticket holders as well I believe. I think they'll continue to make an honest effort to compete for a little while but they have a BRUTAL schedule down the stretch and the kabosh could be put on the season if they string several losses together. I'd say unless they keep their recent winning trend up another two weeks then its inevitable that Curry will be shut down for at least the last month of the season. The thing is, losing Monta may make the team better. Probably still not good enough to overcome the schedule they've got, but replacing his ball domination and destruction of offensive flow with unselfishness and his utter uselessness on defense with bigger guys who defend better should be a positive. Even despite losing Udoh.

BTW I'd keep an eye on Klay Thompson if hes available in your fantasy leagues. Guy is a fucking stud and hes going to get loads of shots. Mark Jackson must have ran about 12 plays for him tonight. He shot uncharacteristically poorly, but he could really make up a lot of what you lost from Curry's 3 pt shooting/scoring.

And if you're desperate for a PG once Curry is shut down keep an eye on the Nate Robinson/Charles Jenkins situation. You can already see Nate picking up a lot of the opportunity left from a lack of Monta's ballhogging. Jenkins looked excellent tonight and should get a lot more burn down the stretch.
