Rumor (Untrue):Mo Taylor & Second Round Pick for Cliff Robinson and Edwardo Najera I just saw this on another forum people saying it was reported on ESPN, I believe them because alot of people were discussing it, i'll post a link later if I find one, personally I like this trade, Cliff is a good 3 pt shooter, not a bad defender, but can get slack on rebounds plus he's 38, the good thing is he also has a expiring contract, I don't know much about Edwardo but he seems to be a decent player, anyway please post comments or whatever... <font color="red"><font size="-2">Title edited...~Trip</font></font>
No way! If this really went down, I might starting going on a Dawson rambage again. The team's chemistry has been great and our forwards have been doing wonders for us- Padgett and Howard. If we add these two guys into the mix, it might screw up our chemistry or take playing time away from our original forwards. Either way, if this trade was true, I think it would hurt our team. On the bride side, Robinson's contract runs till the end of this year so after that, we can dump him and free up some cap space. Other than that, I really don't know why Houston would do this trade.
It's a good trade, mainly because we'd be getting rid of Mo Taylor's contract. I think Najera is a good pickup -- definitely a Van Gundy type. Cliff Robinson isn't the great rebounding PF that we need, but he's another player who can stretch defenses (like Padgett) and he could prove to be very valuable in the playoffs for guarding players like Duncan, Staudemire, and Garnett. I'll be happy if this trade goes down.
NAJERA!!! Wow.. we didn't get that much, but Najera is a player I've always enjoyed watching. He hustles, flops, and is there for another 6 fouls. Obviously, we couldn't get much for Mo.. but it's all good Got rid of a bad contract, save a lot of cap room, get an expiring contract.. back-up C/PF's .. Hm.. this really could help chemistry.
Why do people keep saying not to trade Maurice Taylor for people because it will mess up our chemistry. HELLO: Maurice Taylor isn't playing. How is putting 2 new guys on the bench going to mess up chemistry. If when they do come in the game it doesn't work out well, guess what...THEY WILL SIT THE BENCH. No harm, no foul. I'm all about getting rid of Mo's contract in any way possible. However, it seems to me that Robinson's contract goes through next year. Najera gets about 13.5 million over the next 3 seasons (after this one), which I'm fine with if he fits into the system, which I think he would quite nicely. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting magnomonkey:</div><div class="quote_post">Wow.. we didn't get that much</div> Nothing has happened yet.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I think Najera is a good pickup -- definitely a Van Gundy type.</div> Does Van Gundy like players who can't handle passes, jacks up shots with 20 on the shot clock, and only shoot, even if they aren't that good at doing so? If that's the case...then Najera is a Van Gundy type.
Don't hate on Najera, he hustles for the ball and i good off the bench. I don't see how any team would go through this trade with the Rockets, but I guess that someone could have faith in Mo Taylor. HAHAHA!!!
I'm on ESPN right now, but I don't see any news regarding this trade. Getting Najera would help us. We once had him in the draft but traded his rights for Dan Langhi, who faded to obscurity. Najera hustles, rebounds well and defends, definitely a guy who could log 15 minutes under Van Gundy. However, trading for these two power forwards would mean 4 players in the rotation. Robinson is going to get his minutes, and Najera will be likely to as well. That might leave someone in the Mo Taylor situation again.
What? is this trade real or not? Cliff and eduardo are playing right now in today's game with the warriors.....nice rumors abt the trade!
I really dont care whether or not its real. The only reason I would take this trade is to move Mo. I like Najera, but I dont think Cliff brings anything to the table. Najera hustles and could do a decent job playing small ball. I dont want to screw with our rotation though, we've won 6 straight why mess with things now?
Trade proposal looks good although there are some things that can be concerned of. First of all C.Robinson's expiring contract would benefit the Rockets at the same time Najera(contract thru 07-08 season about $4M/year) would provide some hustle and defense that Van Gundy likes. On the other hand "if indeed" the trade pushes through we would get 2 players which would make us a 16 players roster. Only 15 players are allowed per team. 12 on the active roster and 3 on the injured list. That means we would have to waive and release someone. Who could that be? Strickland? Barrett?Bowen? Or one of our excess PF. It would be cheaper to buyout C. Robinson's contract because there's only a half season left. The Rockets organization would have to think wisely as the trading deadline nears.
Hmm nothing seems to of happened, perhaps it was a forum full of liars, anyway please give it another day and if nothing happens then i'll delete this thread
I doubt that anything is happening with this. The trade doesn't seem plausable to me. Don't ask me why, I just feel it.
Fox Sports website had an article posted 3 hours ago with the top 5 players most likely to be moved before the trade deadline. Clifford Robinson was one of the players listed, so more than likely he has yet to be moved. Source
This trade looks pointless to me but sounds like it will happen. These guys dont really bring anything great to us. They sound a lot like what we have in padgett. they can shoot the three and arent great rebounders, hustle pretty good. We clearly dont need any changes right now until the offseason, it seems like a better time to make a trade in our case.

Even as we play well, we must still make trades especially since we have many old players.Acquiring Najera will help us out in the future, and so will robinson's expiring contract.
Well I heard on the rumor on Matt Jacksons post game show last night that we were still supposed to be trading Taylor to Portland for Derek Anderson
clifford was traded to some other team (not the rockets) which is gna happen today. Hope we can still get D.A
He has already been traded to the Nets for 2 second rounders. You can breathe a sigh of relief now... http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread...newpost&t=32587
