Though Ron Artest's agent said Artest would have welcomed a trade to the Heat (among other places), the Kings now say they plan to keep him. . . . Happy Walters, the agent for Golden State restricted free agent Mickael Pietrus, said the Heat's Randy Pfund told him he plans to contact the Warriors about a potential sign-and-trade for the 6-6, multiskilled, 25-year-old small forward.

I think Miami is trying to maintain their lead as the league's worst free throw shooting team.

I don't see anyone on Miami that appeals to me for the Warriors besides the big two whom are both untouchable, I'd assume. Jason Williams may be the only player that is half-way realistic for the Warriors to get for Pietrus. that I'd support in a sign-and-trade.

Multi-skilled according to a MIAMI paper. Let's hope everyone over there thinks that. Pietrus could be the future of their franchise over there.

Actually, I think Pietrus would be good for the Heat. They need some youth , energy, and hustle over there to wake up all the vets. Alongside Haslem and Wade, he'll be pretty good I imagine.

Let's make the trade already!!!! Who do we get in return? [IMG]

Pietrus could be a type of Bruce Bowen player with Shaq and Wade as the bosses there. I don't know if Pietrus is exactly multiskilled, but overall he's (or can be) a strong defender, solid rebounder, and very decent scorer with nice range on his shot.

Well if we want potential back and the same kind of raw basketball player, how about Dorrell Wright? But... I'd imagine we'd get frustrated with him if he doesn't improve his game. I think we'd also have to re-sign him for a good deal of money to ever see that potential. I guess the way I see it is if our starting rotation is good, we need bench players who can be consistently performing off the bench rather than be the type where we don't know what we're getting out of him.

Dorrell had some impressive games last season while the heat were battling injuries.... i would be all for acquiring him....

But essentially the kid is like Pietrus in a way, right? I mean not as good defensively and shooting outside, but he seems to be the same jaw dropper of an athlete and can do some things pretty well. I haven't seen his lateral quickness that much but the kid can fly. I've seen him throw some down. Might be a good rebounder for us if Miami would agree to part with him.

Yeah, but if these talks are legit, who do you actually think the Heat would send over? Let's say Pietrus gets an s&t for 3 years, 15 mils or something. Haslem makes 6 mils a year, they wouldn't give him up, would they?

The Warriors should force them to take Foyle's contract as well.

    Foyle for JWill
Pietrus for future 1st Round Pick

He did average 10.5 rebs per 48 last year, and shot around 80+% from the FT line. I would say he is distinctly different that way. Also, his ball handling is suppose to be better. What I have seen from him I have liked, though I don't know how well he is at anticipation, but if he can be a 7-8 rebs a game type guy while developing his shot to play the 3 full time, then he would definately be worth the risk.

I doubt Pietrus would be enough for them to part with Dorrell, but my idea would be a Pietrus+POB=Wright+Filler(Doleac?) type deal. This is coming from a POB supporter, but I think that's a good deal from both sides.

Ahh, thx Flux. Yeah I don't know much about Dorrell Wright because I don't see him play much. I just hear he's a great athlete and he's got some skill, but he was in for a rude awakening once he jumped from high school to the pros.

I've basically given up on Pietrus even if he's got a strong point. I want another guy that's athletic but has more skill and smarts. For every good thing he does he ends up taking it back by doing something dumb. Plus, it's often the same mistakes when he fouls when he shouldn't foul or he turns the ball over or he keeps going to the same baseline shot that's way off. To his credit though, I've seen some pretty great plays from him. It's like one of those Foyle moments where he does something unexpected and comes out looking like a genius. What would this guy be without his athleticism and heart though? Foyle with the brain of POB?

Yes! make it happen. Perhaps if this deal included the Orlando Magic instead of the Miami Heat would it happen.

I wonder if there is any chance of getting denver involved and getting blake out of the deal.

I'm not sure if you want Simien. He's having a tough time recovering from injury. He's like Mr. Glass.

I dont know anything about him except that I wanted the Warriors to draft him back when we drafted Diogu I think. He is pretty built though...
