There had been rumors this week that the New York Jets would re-sign DE Marques Douglas to bolster their D-line depth once the "Final Eight" restrictions were removed. However, a source has told Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com that this won't happen, at least not in the near future. It's not out of the question that Douglas is approached should the Jets suffer a training camp injury, however. Douglas was a 12-game starter for the Jets in 2009, adding 64 tackles to his career total. He would make a nice addition to another 3-4 team that needs a solid veteran presence at DE. That need might reveal itself much more extensively once training camps get underway.
