via some fans? I don't know about that. It's not reported anywhere on the Internet yet if it was real.

Damn, that franchise seems to be in full meltdown.

I bet Kerr isn't long behind.

Funny thing is that when it's all said and done, they could have a lineup right now of Nash/Fernandez/Joe Johnson/Amare/Some stiff, coached by D'Antoni. Basically, just hold on to the good players and pay them what they're worth. Talk about an utterly terrifying assortment of offensive talent.

It would've been cheaper, and it'd sell a hell of a lot better to the fans.

I believe you, it's being talked up on the ESPN general boards. One guy says he works closely with the Suns organization. I know it sounds sketch but with you claiming the same thing I'm pretty sure it's true.

Theres also some stuff up on the Real GM boards now too.

I guess it could be anything. All it looks like is Porter, Kerr and Sarver are in a meeting.

Could be a firing, or a Trade.

That's pretty shitty if they fire him already. I don't know if he is a good coach or not. Personally, I think he could be a good coach. Seems like you get veteran teams like that, and all they ever want is for things to go back to the way they were at some other time. Detroit was/is like that. It's unfair to Porter to bring him in, with his gameplan he wants to implement, and then leave him with 3/4 of a roster set to play D'Antoni's style. And then butcher it worse by taking away Diaw and Bell, and adding Jason Richardson, one mopre person looking to score, as if that was PHX's problem.

    Re: Rumour: Terry Porter fired

The Suns contacts on realgm have confirmed it. Although it may not be official for awhile because he is out doing publicity with NBA people for the all-star game. But tlongII is correct. The same Suns contacts on the realgm board broke the Shaq trade a week before anyone else even sniffed it and same with the Richardson deal.

No surprise as Porter is an atrocious coach.

Yet Mixum will tell you that they're beat us out of a playoff spot this year somehow. The glass is always half empty for some people I guess.

Who's taking his job? Kerr? That is one dysfunctional front office at the moment.

If true then the question is who do you bring in to replace him. Too bad D'Antoni isn't available. Maybe they'll take Jeff Van Gundy, although I was never a fan of his teams that played really slow either.

They need to go back to playing fast, how they were a year or two ago. They were so good on the break. It doesn't matter if Shaq doesn't run the court great. He'll rebound, outlet to Nash, and then they'll run a 4-man fast break with Amare, Richardson, etc. and score before Shaq gets across half-court. Which means he can play 2x times as many minutes...right? Something like that.

Tough break for TP, but he had to know he was tackling a helluva tough assignment with a team of aging stars and trying to totally re-work the scheme and philosophy.

I'm sure he'll get an assistant's gig somewhere in the next year or two, though it's hard to see him ever getting a head coaching position.

I wouldn't say "Ever", but I've never been impressed with his coaching jobs anyways.

If this is true, I can see Eddie Jordan as a replacement. Although, if he's still being paid by Washington, the Suns might have to pay him more, and I can see them wanting someone cheap. So, probably Alvin Gentry (if he's still assistant coach there).

Hopefully this doesn't put the kibosh on any Amare trades.

If they were smart, they'd hire Avery Johnson and try to salvage the season.

If this is true, perhaps Flip Saunders might be recruited. He's a very good coach, especially when it comes to offense.

I hope not, though. I would actually like Portland to hire Saunders to be head coach.
