"When Warriors general manager Bob Myers addressed the media last week about the NBA draft, the subject strayed to swingman Brandon Rush. Myers made it clear that the Warriors very much wanted to keep Rush, and that they were going to do all they could to ensure that.

Step 1 occurred on Tuesday, when the Warriors extended a qualifying offer to Rush, making him a restricted free agent. More importantly, it means the Warriors have Rush under their control right now.

Rush is free to sign an offer sheet with any other NBA team, and then the Warriors would have one week to match the offer and retain Rush. If the Warriors think the price is too high, they will allow Rush to leave."

The guy is productive, but seriously we could use another two or three man in FA or draft. Wright doesn't show interest like he cares anymore, Klay Thompson has yet to prove himself in his sophmore year in the nba, and Rush is a guy that can start depending on if the matchup favors him more at SF or more at SG. After that who else is there?

I really like both Rush and McGuire but it looks like at least one of them will be gone. Klay and RJ aren't going anywhere. Wright is here for the time being. They just added Barnes and Green figures to be a combo forward.

I'm thinking we may dump Wright on a team below the cap pretty soon. He's got one year left at about 4 million, which isn't bad at all. Some crappy team may be happy to add him, sell him to the fanbase as a legitimate starter, and help them achieve the salary floor.

They're trying to move Wright since he doesn't want to play for the W's anymore (ever since Ellis trade).
