Yesterday, Andre Civil from Brooklyn committed to the Scarlet Knights. He had offers from Clemson, Georgia Tech, UCONN, Marlyand, and Syracuse. As of now, he's a very raw DE, but is an absolute athletic freak. My guess is that with his frame, he'll add another 25-30 pounds and become a DT. The reason I didn't post about Civil yesterday was because Paul Carrezola was going to announce this afternoon between Rutgers, Pitt, NC State, and Iowa, and I pretty much knew RU was going to be the choice, so I figured I'd wait and post them together today. Carrezola made it official about an hour ago, and he will be a Scarlet Knight. He also had offers from Boston College, Northwestern, Syracuse, and Michigan State. Two great pick-ups. And an unusual start to the recruiting season for RU because they now have more commits from NY and PA (two a piece) than they do from NJ (only one). Don't see that too often for Rutgers.
