Ortiz is winless in his last five fights and hasn't won since defeating a geriatric Ken Shamrock twice in 2006. The 36-year old Santa Ana native was scheduled to face Antonio "Little Nog" Nogueira at Ultimate Fight Night 24 in March but was forced to withdraw due to a laceration suffered in training.

Bader, nine years younger than Ortiz, has fifteen wins since 2007 including three on the Ultimate Fighter reality series. Bader was defeated by eventual Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones at UFC 126 in a title eliminator match, the only loss of Bader's career.

You have to figure this is Ortiz's last chance in the UFC, especially since with the acquisition of Strikeforce there really isn't anywhere for him to go. It also seems to be an awfully tough draw for the Bad Boy--Joe Silva and Dana White seem to want to build Bader's name back up with a win over the aging but still recognizable Ortiz.

Good call on this being Tito's last chance and perhaps a way to build Bader's name. They get Bader some publicity and then Tito goes to SF and brings some viewers to that promotion. Never liked Ortiz but its kind of sad watching him go into fight after fight where hes the only guy on earth who thinks he has a shot to win. Even in SF who is going to lose to this guy?
